My large burner at the front does not work, yet

Your front burner is fine. Assuming you have an electric cooktop the problem is in the switch that controls that burner. The infinite control switch. Replace it.

Hi dmoody... You will have to replace the ignitors. To get the ignitors and the button to raise the fan go to http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/index.action and enter the model number of your Jenn-Air. You will see excellent diagrams with each part labeled and numbered.
You can then buy the parts you need there or call your local Jenn-Air dealer to compare prices.

Two burners will not ignite.

The gas openings might be clogged. Boilovers can cause this. With the gas OFF, use a wooden toothpick to reach into each hole and loosen the cooked on matter. Once you have these openings clear, the gas should come on and will burn off the residue.

My electric ignition keeps trying

You haven't stated an exact model but the principle is always the same.

There will be a thermocouple located so that when the appliance lights, the flame plays over it and generates a voltage. The voltage is sensed by the spark ignition system which then responds by shutting off. Over time, the thermocouple erodes and fails to send a signal so you need a new one. They're usually cheap but can involve a lot of disassembly to get to, but an experienced gas fitter can still usually access the unit in under fifteen minutes so the entire job usually gets covered by the first hour labour charge, even allowing time for the essential safety checks after the part has been replaced.

In most developed countries it's illegal to do this repair on a DIY basis as the results can be lethal to you and others if a mistake is made.

Replacing a jenn-air gas cooktop valve. The two

Hi,

The valves can be replaced individually. I would need the model number of the cooktop to look up the part numbers for you. The number would be on the tag that is typically on the bottom of the cooktop or in the grille area.

The valves will screw onto the manifold and are not too difficult to replace on most models. The most difficult part on most of these Jenn Air units it taking them apart to access the valves. Again with the model number I can help you with that also.

Our cooktop knobs for our model JGC8536 Jenn-air

What color is your cook-top? The stainless model may have actual steel knobs.. End your model number with "s" when looking for the parts..
If you have stainless and they are still plastic "stainless look" knobs then call the manufacturer as they would be the only ones to be able to determine if there is a metal knob available for your unit.
Good luck!

Model CVGX2423W ignighter sparks at all four

Every time you try to light just one burner the ignighter will try to light them all. The reason why is that they are all wired to the same switch under the cook top. There is nothing to be worried about. That is the way the factory made the cook top.

Jennair gas oven shuts off and does not work .

Hi,

Here is what the F1C code means:

F1-C Oven door switch state not advancing to control. Check connections, harness, and motor

Phil's thoughts:------>

-If the door is not closing properly the control may shut off the operations of the oven. If the door does not make good contact with seal or feels soft the hinges would need replaced

- If the door switch is failing it could fool the control into thinking the door is open. If this is the case the door switch mechanism or the control itself would need replaced.

How do I remove my electric cooktop...the conduit

On link below is a install manual It might not be yours but they are all pretty much the same. It will tell you how to install. You just do the reverse to remove.

Also you do not un wire the cooktop from the cooktop but from the junction box in the wall. Please make sure the breaker is turned off before you un-wire it.

Long Drain
If the drain time exceeds 8 minutes, the water valves are turned off and "F/02" is flashed.
NOTE: After 4 minutes the "Sud" error will be displayed, then 4 minutes later the F02 error code will be displayed.

Press PAUSE/CANCEL twice to clear the display.
  • Check the drain hose and make sure it is not plugged or kinked.
  • Check the electrical connections at the pump and make sure the pump is running.
  • Check the drain pump filter for foreign objects.
  • If the above does not correct the problem, replace the pump.

Yekkow flame

When you get a yellow air that means that you are not getting enough air. Please check for debrs in the burner tube.
There is an air intake shutter (usually adjustable) at the back of the gas tube going to that burner. On the tube is the air opening which is likely to be restricted. Or the inside of the tube may be restricted. Any restriction in air flow into the air shutter will produce a yellow flame.

You'll likely need to remove the burner to inspect the inside of the air tube, if there are no external visible signs of an obstruction on the tube at the air shutter. In order to access the burner and the tube supplying gas to the burner, you'll need to find and or determine a way to lift or remove the stoves top lid.
