The Er DH error code indicates the temperature sensor on the evaporator coil did not reach 50 degrees within one hour.
This would indicate the control board did put the refrigerator through a defrost cycle.

This problem could be caused by a defective relay on the control board, a defective defrost heater, a broken wire to the heater, or a stopped up drain on the defrost pan causing ice to form on the evaporator coil.

Before replacing the control board, someone should remove the food from the freezer, remove the freezer drawer, and remove the evaporator cover to expose the evaporator coil, heater, and defrost sensor.
The voltage to the defrost heater should be 120 volts ac.
The defrost heater is part of the evaporator coil and is not replaceable as a separate part.

You can test the operation of the defrost system by pressing "Ultra Ice" and "colder freezer temp" for 3 seconds.
The first time you press and hold the buttons the board will test the compressor, fan, and open the damper.

All displays should be on.

The second time you press and hold the buttons the board will test the compressor, fan, and close the damper.

The third time you press and hold the buttons, the board will turn the compressor and fan off and turn the defrost heater on for around 25 minutes. This would let you know if the defrost system is working.

You have a bad freezer fan and need to replace it. The fan is located behind the back wall INSIDE the freezer. The unit will warm up a little because the air wont circulate the way it is supposed to. You can try unplugging fridge for 30 seconds to reset the control board.

You can order the part at searspartsdirect.com. You need to remove the back panel from INSIDE the freezer. Yes unplug it the fridge while you do the repair. I would recommend having a tech do the repair.

Good Luck!!

HI. First, you will need to rule out any standard issues that will cause this. Check the internal, and external feed lines for any obstructions. Make sure that the internal lines are not frozen, or kinked. If the lines check out ok, move on to the water filter.

In most units, there will be a filter, present. These devices are set to operate on a particular time frame. If their filtering limit is met, the filter will stop filtering water, thus, not allowing the fluid to flow, at all. Make sure that the filter is up to date. If you have verified that the filter is ok, move on to the water inlet valve assembly.

The water inlet valve is located behind your refrigerator. Find the water supply line coming into the valve and turn it off at the source (typically under the sink). Disconnect the supply line. Remove the screws that secure the inlet valve in place.

The water inlet valve is connected by two wires. Label the wire placement on the water inlet valve before disconnecting the wires. The wires are connected to the terminals with slip on connectors

Firmly pull the connectors off of the terminals (do not pull on the wire). You may need to use a pair of needle-nose pliers to remove the connectors. Inspect the connectors and the terminals for corrosion. If the connectors are corroded they should be replaced.

Inspect the filter screen where the supply line connects. Remove any debris or deposits that may have built up using a toothbrush, or warm running water. If you cannot clear the clog, it will be necessary to replace the valve (the filter is not removable on most inlet valves).

Test the water inlet valve for continuity using a multimeter. Set the multimeter to the ohms setting X100 (if available, otherwise use the nearest ohm setting). Place a probe on each terminal. The multimeter should display a reading of 200 to 500 ohms. Close inspection of the inlet valve and especially the coil may reveal the exact ohm resistance rating to test for. If the water inlet valve does not pass this test, it should be replaced.

It's probablly caused by air leakage through the ice room fan electrical connection inside the freezer. Behind the back wall inside the freezer, the icd fan is the fan that blows air up to the in-door icemaker. The plug on that, into a molded plug on the back of the feezer compartment, is a red plastic part with three wires in it. Try filling in around the wires and the red plastic with a bit of silicone. (if you replace the ice room fan, the new plug comes with a rubber filler which seals this spot). (PS. Next time, avoid Sears)

Hi, I've seen quite a few of these unit's either with the "kenmore" badge or the actual maker, LG/Samsung. The problem either lyes in the door switch being faulty, or the relay on the main control board at the back. If your's has reached the point of melting all the interface control, light cover and housing, that's unfortunate. The new light socket's and deflector comes with the rework kit which includes a limit/cut-out bi-metal wired into light assembly to insure it win't re-occur. The bi-metal will shut the light off if it stick's "on". The main board should also be replaced. I'd suggest you consider hiring a pro appliance tech. You may also consider contacting Sears to inquire about any possible warranty. Hope that help's. Please take a second and rate the info provided to you here at fixya. Thank you and good luck. Sounds to me that you may have a loose bracket or something else loose under the drawer. Typically the fan won't run until you close the drawer which takes me there. Unless you are a qualified technician please don't attempt to repair it yourself!!

You are evidently holding the drawer. Look inside of the hole and at the back should be the slides and a latch at the back....You may just have to lift the drawer to lock into the slides. You may have to take the lid off of it first.

Well; without a repair guide for procedures and how to test the different components; your guess is as good as mine. Look for the simplest solution 1st. Dust build up, condensate lines plugged etc. Always unplug the unit before diagnosing. The fan has an automatic relay and can start at any time.
