Based on your finding on your second trip, the machine shut of on one of the safety timeouts that limit the harvest and freeze cycles. Its possible that the evaporator has lost some nickel plating and the ice is hanging, but first the heat build up in the storeroom is a problem if you get running again come back a few hours later and check the ambient temp in the room,its probably above the machine design temp. Can a vent be cut in the ceiling? an exhaust fan to **** that heat away would be good.

HOW TO RESET THE ICE THICKNESS PROBE
If it's the one on the front of the evaporator, there is a screw that increases / decreases the thickness. Make sure all the plastics are in correct positions etc, first. turn screw in or out until the metal part of the sensor is 3/16" away from the front of the evaporator plate to give a 1/8" bridge.

I have a manitowoc r-12 system 200 I can't get to make ice what can I do
First, this us a very old system and probably needs to be replaced if it really is an R12 system. The unit is probably at least 40 years or more old since they stopped producing R12 about 1970's. If your manitowac ice machine is usable still, it probably has lost its charge and will need to be refilled with a suitable refrigerant. I actually still have a jug of R12, but I generally charge systems with the only substitute still available R420 if you can find someone who still sells it. I saw that both refrigerant were being phased out and purchased a couple of jugs and only have a little left. My suggestion if you want this ice machine in operation again take it to an ice machine repairman and have him repair it. Good luck.
