20 Most Recent Jenn-Air JJW8130D Electric Single Oven Questions & Answers

Technician just left our house with same issue. Jenn-Air had issued a technical bulletin as the temperature probe is mounted directly to the heating element, and measures the heat of the element, not the oven. Their fix is a revised temperature probe that goes at a 90 degree angle away from the heating element.

If your temperature is consistent, just off by a set amount of degrees, there is an adjustment you can make at the control panel.

HI

Thanks for using FixYa. The lock indicator light must be in off position. This can take more than one hour. After the lock indicator light goes out, move the door lock lever to the left. The oven door can now be opened. Turn the selector and temperature knobs from clean to off after the door is unlocked. If the temperature knob is turned to off before the door is unlocked, the door will not open. Forcing the lock will damage the lock mechanism. If this is the case, then return the temperature knob back to clean, unlock the door and turn the temperature knob in off position. If still you are not able to open the lock then it means that the lock motor might have failed. Use an insulated wire bending into the hook and slide from the right side and move the door to the right. It can also allow you to release the lock and open the door.

Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Thanks

Rylee

hi elyot

when you open the unit up and it looks as if the display assembly is solderd properly, you are looking into a burnt display board thus needs replacement else a resoldering.

here is the part you needed for replacement

http://www.thisoldappliance.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=49

this can be installed easily with a DIY soldering job.

hope this helps,

Sometimes those springs hang on a hook with "notches" so that you can increase the tension by moving to a higher notch. If they don't have any adjustment on them, and you just put a replacement spring on I'd start looking other places for the problem first. If you got the closest springs they had at the hardware store, then you can increase the tension by curling down (thus shortening) the hook ends of the spring with long nose pliers. On a strong spring like an oven spring this will be kind of difficult.

Make sure there isn't any rubbing or other problem going on with the hinges... sometimes just a couple drops of 3 in 1 oil will do the trick.

The lock motor may have failed. Most often, bending a coat hanger into a hook and sliding from the right side as you move the door to the right, will allow you to release the lock and open the door.

I know on the older units it usually slides right back on. You might have to pinch the locking part of the hinge together, as it will have a spring that lets this happen. Once together, slide door onto hinge slowly. Too fast and it might slide past where it needs to go; if so, just pull back as if you are trying to remove for servicing. It should snap into place. Hope this helps. I might be able to tell you more if I knew the model#, type, etc.

Hi

If you have connected correctly and the ribbon cable is also fine then it seems that the touch pad is bad and should be replaced. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.
