How do I fix a Jenn-Air JMC7000 that does not heat up items?

The noise is coming from the high-voltage transformer being overloaded by something shorting it out. Either the magnatron or the high-voltage capacitor and diode. Replace the capacitor and diode then if still not working, replace the magnatron. Its only affordable if you do it yourself - buy the part on EBAY - lookup "universal magnatron"
Hope ya fix it!

Jenn-air microwave JMC 7000 ADB has no power

I have a different Jenn-Air built in microwave & oven combination but I'm sure my solution will work for you as well.

My microwave was plugged into an outlet located on the top of the oven. This outlet has a "circuit breaker" that tripped while we were using the self cleaning feature on the oven. You just need to reset the breaker button right next to the wall oven outlet. Why it tripped is a mystery since the microwave was not in use at the time. Bad design.

Of course, getting to the reset button is your only challenge. You need to pull the microwave and oven out of the wall/cabinetry in order to get to it. The unit is heavy so you will need help. Or, call a certified repairman and they should be able to do this for you in 30 minutes or less so the service call should not run you more than @$85 if it is no longer under warranty.

I would also suggest you contact Jenn-Air to complain about this issue and seek reimbursement from them if necessary.

Microwave Trips Breaker and Blows Fuse when not in Use

Since the internal fuse blew, the problem has to be either a surge from the power source, or an intermittent or transient short at some point beyond the fuse. With the unit unplugged, I would first look at the varistor (surge absorber) on the control circuit board to see if it might have taken a transient. It may look charred, distorted, etc. Then I would look at the door interlock switches and mounts to see if the switches are clicking properly and if they are aligned and secure. The purpose of the monitor switch is to blow the fuse (and usually the breaker) if there is aan interlokc problem. Next would be a look at the condition of the wiring from the fuse holder all the way back to the power cord. Then just for good measure, I would test the power outlet. A toaster is a good high-current load to use. But I don't think the problem's in the wiring or breaker. If you or a friend decide to work on it, we have *critical* safety and disassembly info at our site, which is linked at our listing here on FixYa: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk You can find the wiring diagram, helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your base model number (without the suffix) here: http://tinyurl.com/gv383 Be sure to use a proper ceramic appliance fuse that's meant for the job.

Jenn-Air JMV9186WS Microwave. I was replacing the vent grill and touched something behind the white cam that rotates when microwave is on and it blew. It has no power now. What could be done?

Question edited for clarity. Question moved from Laundry Dryers. Check the circuit breaker or if it has a 13 amp UK plug, check the fuse inside the plug. There may be a fuse on the the control board, but getting to it is not safe. https://www.fixya.com/support/r29874712-repairing_microwave_ovens ..

I would click on Jenn Air or call 1-800-JENN-AIR (536-6247) and ask for a replacement recommendation and a copy of old installation instructions for planning with designer or installer. They have access to records if anyone does and an interest in serving you. Alternatively, talk to another seller and discuss installation. they will also want to help. I have a Jenn-Air JMV9169BAS microwave that doesn't heat. I looked at other similar posts and have checked the capacitor and replaced the magnetron. I can't get the diode out to check it. I don't smel

It's really not safe to measure the voltage while it's running unless you truly have training and experience. The risk is not "radiation," but instead the high voltage (4000VAC) and its frequency, which can be instantly lethal. Microwave ovens do not contain or produce ionizing radiation as found in atomic or nuclear energy. That is just a common myth. Microwave energy is much like radio waves or light, and while it can cause burns, you'd likely pull away due to heat before much if any damage were done. The service manual (with installation instructions) is here: http://www.microwavecontrol.com/AMV1154_AMV5164_AMV5206_AMV6167_JMV8166_JMV8208_JMV9169_MMV1153_MMV4205_MMV5165_MMV5207_UMV1152_inst_sm.pdf When a high-voltage rectifier diode fails, it almost always shorts, which will result in a growling / groaning sound when trying to cook, but no heat. Ideally, this test should be performed on a high-voltage diode: 9v_battery_meter_test_hv_diode-bamrfjjfhaycgefspgj211on-2-0.jpg A good parts source is the Pros here. - William E.
