Look at the old adapter if you have it. Match up the voltage requirement. and meet or exceed the current (mA) rating. also make sure it is DC if required. Any adapter that has the right voltage and current output will work. Also you can go over the voltage but like 20% ie: 12V works for 9V, and 15V works for 12V and so on. But if you go under the voltage requirement, only do so by 10 percent. And increse the current requirement proportionally. Chances are you have an old adapter around that you are not using. If you need to change the connector, the wire with the white stipe on it is usually positive. So long as you match them up you should be ok.

If you have the original adapter simply purchase a generic adapter with the same connection type, amp/current and voltage. Otherwise it will show on the products sticker, normally with the model and serial number, what input the ac/dc adapter uses. Well one thing I can say is DO NOT TURN IT ON.IT WILL EXPLODE ON YOU AND IT WILL ****.Now that I have stressed that,a mabey fix.
One possible sollution is that your fan is blocked and you can easily un block it by finding it,and removing the lint via tweezers.Or you have something in your computer that is burning.Please do not do anything.Lock it up and carry it to a professional so he may look at it and ***** its danger level.Hope it helped

Have you checked the Adaptor ? Try the Car adaptor to see if that makes a difference, if not then you got a problem on the internal circuity.
