Very risky. Only do it if you really need to. Most people just think it is a little update to the OS, but it is much more that that. It controls what happens before the operating system loads as soon as the computer switches on, "Hello, do we have a hard drive here, do we have memory, is there a video card here somewhere, is the fan working, can all you components talk to each other"? Then is says "okay, lets see if we can find the operating system and load it in the right order"? If the BIOS Update fails, none of that happens and you have a dead computer. I have only done it once in 30 years of computing, including building my own computers.

We really need FULL make, model, BIOS versions and Operating System in such questions. Our computer Guru Larry will be along soon to have a chat with you about that :>)

Yes they are. Printers are one of the most common types of output devices but they can also be considered input devices because of the multi-function printers that include scanners and copiers.

You are lucky! Formatting or deleting won't make the data in computer hard drive erased permanently.

Those deleted data is still stored on the computer, it's just invisible or inaccessible. So as long as those data are not overwritten by new data, it's highly possible to recover them. And the MOST Effective way is to rely on some format recovery programs.

Try a good data recovery program. Asoftech data recovery program can recover data after deeply scanning your hard drive to look for lost data you accidentally deleted or formatted.

You probably can - many work opportunities provide work for casual employees at a daily rate, though it is very important to ensure local laws are fully complied with and that means making enquiries at the local income tax office, etc.

$100 dollars a day is very modest by today's standards and would be suitable for light unskilled labouring...

That is correct. Check Disk only works with a DOS environment.
Try reloading the drivers from the PC manufacturers web site, NOT the generic windows drivers.

Can you logon to your computer in normal mode or only in Safe mode?
This would be the best way to run Chkdsk:
1. Disable any security software before attempting to upgrade or do a clean install.
2. Make sure your computer is updated (devices and applications)
3. Disconnect any external devices before installing.
4. Check your hard disk for any errors:
Click Start
Type: CMD, from the results, right click CMD
Click 'Run as Administrator'
At the Command Prompt, type: chkdsk /r /f
When you restart your system, your computer will be scanned for errors and attempts will be made to correct them.
