Same problem here. I have found that rocking the watertank back and forth - just enough to lift the front edge of the tank about 1/16", then the back edge 1/16" - will usually fix the problem within 10 to 30 'rockings' when the tank is full. Yes, this often results in spillage under the tank's cover and onto the counter. And, yes, this happens neraly every time i make espresso. What a royal pain in the ****.

I don't know if the problem is in the tank or in the machine. I'm still investigating, etc.

The machine is on and says decalcify/ready to use.

Have you had the same message for a while, but were able to make coffee? When was the last time you decalcified the machine? Your Syncrony probably needs to be decalcified. But do not use the descalers you usually find in the grocery stores, which are for drip coffee makers. Durgol is one of the best ones and the advantage is that it comes as a liquid (on the powder descalers you have to make sure they dissolve completely before you use them and that you measure the correct amount of water). You can find it online or the only store I could find that carries it is Bed, Bath and Beyond. Turn the machine off and let it cool off. When you are ready, take the water tank off and add the decalcifying solution mixed according to the instructions on the package. If you are using a powder, mix it in a different container. And never pour the solution in the tank while this is on the machine (also, make sure the coffee beans container has the cover on - you don't want any liquid making it into the grinder, as it will damage it). Put the water tank with the descaling solution back and turn the machine on. You will then have to press and hold the button that looks like the number 8 on the side (or the infinity symbol in math) and the machine will start the descaling process. Follow the instructions on the display. Put a large container under the steam wand and turn the knob (the same knob you turn for steam and hot water). Be sure to watch for when descaling is done (you will have a message on the display indicating that). Close the knob, rinse the water tank well, fill it with fresh water and put it back on the machine, which will now need to be rinsed. Place an empty container under the steam wand and push the same (8 on the side) button once, turn the knob. The machine will start the rinsing process. You might have to refill the water tank once or twice before it is finished. Once rinsing is done, your machine will be ready for use or it will ask you to ventilate. To do that, fill the water tank with fresh water, place an empty container under the steam wand, push the hot water button and turn the knob. Let the machine circulate water through. Once the ventilate message is gone you're done.

You probably have an internal leak that is hitting a power wire and tripping the GFI. It needs to be fixed before it shorts something and burns up the board.

The language is is spanish

You need to change your language in the menu.
Push and hold the menu button. When it changes in the window, use the up or down arrow button to move the asterisk (*) until you come to a window that has something like "lingua, or spreka", and then push the menu button again. Use the up arrow to scroll to "English". When you have the asterisk (*) in front of English, push the menu button again. You have selected English and then you can push the escape button to exit. Some machines have exit in the scroll bar, so it depends on your machine.

Is the display completely blank? Does the LCD backlight come on at all?

The transformer would likely pass the high transient voltage on through the secondary winding. It's the computer that I would be worried about.

The pump and boiler are under computer control; if that computer got toasted then you'll need a new board.

Does the brew unit try to move at all? You can listen for the motor, or open the door panel and defeat the safety interlock while it's operating. (Be careful not to put a finger in there.) Then you can observe where the brew unit is getting stuck.

Syncrony Compact Digital unit- Used

First clean the screen and tube on the brew unit, then lube the guides/gear grooves on the brew unit, also lube the o-ring(big red one). Then that should take care of it. You can also try backwashing/degreasing the brew unit if the machine has a preground chute.

I have a Gaggia Syncrony

Sounds like the warming element has burnt out, after all of these years, or the warming element is not getting current from the power supply inside the Gaggia Syncrony.

Either the electronic panel's power supply is burnt out, or the element finally burnt out with so much use.

There's a coil in there that could have broken, similar to an electric blanket's heating element, or an iron's heating element.

It is unfortunately probably out of warranty from the manufacturer.

So, if you cannot take it apart and look at the power supply and the heating element and test for continuity using a multimeter or a self powered test light, I think that you are out of luck on this one.

I would replace the unit with another if you like Espresso.

I did check their website but found it in Italian and I do not read Italian, unfortunately for me.
