Usually this is due to a hose that has gotten too close to the heater. You'll have to take the cover off the machine, and replace one of the hoses.

Do you still have the tab on the left side of the dredge drawer? If you do, you can loosen the 2 screw just above the slot wherer you put the credit card. Push down on the plastic ramp in the slot as far as you can, then holding the ramp down tighten the 2 screws. If you don't have the tab you will need a new dredge drawer. Also on some machines the drip tray will lift the dredge drawer and it will give this message. There is a extra piece of plastic in the 90 deg. notch that can be trimed out to stop it from lifting the dredge drawer.

Your showing a Syncrony but this is for a Syncrony Compact. They are different.
Open the door. Remove the drip tray, dredge drawer. On the left side and towards the back of the brew group, there is a single screw in the brew group. If you can't get the dredge drawer out, just move it as far to the left as you can to get to the screw. Remove the screw. Grab the handle, squeeze and pull carefully, but firmly fast. Everything will come out (drip tray, dredge drawer, brew group and there might be water in the drip tray). The brew group should come out. There is a piece that remains in the machine. Slide the piece down and to the right and it will come off. Insert the piece into the hole on the backside of the brew group with the clip up. Tighten the screw and move brew group back into position.
To return the brew group to the centered position, you first need to drop the funnel. To do this, look on the opposite side of the brew group from the handle. At the top you will see an object that looks like a sharks fin. If you follow this piece down you will see 2 horizontal bars on the brew group body. Push your finger between these 2 bars and the funnel will drop. Now you can push the puck slide on the left side down and then to the center of the brew group. If you look down through the funnel you should see a piston. This should be centered in the funnel. If not just push the slide to the right until it does. Push the press button and you are now ready to reinsert the brew group into the machine. First you must insert the dredge drawer back into the machine. Close the door and turn on the machine without having the brew group in. You will hear the motor turn on and when it stops completely, pull out the dredge drawer, drip tray, then open the door and insert the brew group. Slide the drip tray, dredge drawer back in, close the door and test.

When you go to empty the dredge drawer you must leave the machine on. When you remove the dredge drawer it will say dredge drawer missing. Leave it out at least 15 seconds so the machine knows you are empting it. When you insert it again the machine will count about 24 cycles and tell you to empty it again. Its a counter.

Fill watertank with descaler solution, place a large bowl underneath the steam wand, locate the button that looks like a sideways 8 or oo or similar, press it for five seconds and the machine will begin auto descaling. Follow further instructions on scree.

That usually happens when the steam wand or pump is clogged.

The steam wand must be removed and unclogged.

To start unplug power cord and see if problem persists.

A basic work can be done inserting a paperclip or a long pin inside the steam wand, be careful not to damage the machine doing this.

As an alternative solution you can try while pushing the hot water button, then turning the machine off and removing the water tank
Then fill the plastic pump with water and inserts it into the water intake valve.
After that turn the machine on, open the steam wand and at the same time introduce water into the intake using the plastic pump until the machine is unclogged.

The whole procedure is wuite complicate and must be repeated several times.

More simply , if all the above does not work, you can try pressing the hot water button and opening the steam valve. Leaving the nozzle open until Ventilate message goes away. If the machine is not badly clogged this will solve the problem.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

You must use the correct tablets for this, gaggia make special decalcifying tablets.
The machine must be cold when running the program.
It takes about an hour to run the solution through the machine.

Yes the steam booster boiler is damaged and a local gaggia repair agent should be able to repair it within an hour, they normally keep that part in stock.
