You probably need to clean or replace the screen inside your brew unit. I recently just cleaned mine due to the same issue with some steel wool.

Machine is probably not in the fully "at rest" position. See if you can get the tray in without any other parts on it. Sometimes the waste grounds bin will foul on the mechanism if brewing unit has not stopped in the correct position. Once the bare tray is in and activating the switch the machine will realign itself when turned on.

Take the nozzle off and wash well also there is a small hole pin size at the top clean out with a pin and push the black inside piece inside nozzle out 2/3 MM out it must pop out I use a chop stick it's perfect. I had the same problem perfect now

If you've had the back off it may be this.....there are two grey plastic prongs sticking out of the back of the casing, when you've put it back on they haven't gone into the two lugs that are on the back of the cog, this affects the two cogs lining up.you may have to pull the cog up a little to line them up when you put the back on, the cogs should line up again as long as the prongs have gone into the lugs. Check the 2-pole circuit breaker on the left side. You have to remove the back by removing 2 screws. Use a multimeter, test for continuity over both poles. My ~8 year old Gaggia Titanium Plus was dead one morning. I checked the circuit breaker and one of the two poles were bad. I replaced the C.B. and all was fine :-)
