can you please explain the issue?

If the laptop shuts down and won't boot up straight away, then the problem could be an overheating CPU problem. It could be a faulty fan and/or the fan and heatsink assembly is clogged with dust.
Check the fan and if it has stopped spinning then replace it and if the fan and heatsink is clogged with dust, loosen the dust and remove it.

are you able to start in safe mode?
if you can good,then after that you look for what ever you added last and remove it.

it might be just letting you no there is no battry connected,try putting battery back and see what happens.

Removal of a drive is easy on the bottom of the laptop one or two screws hold the drive in place taking the drive screws will release the drive for desktops open the side of ur PC and some drive screws will be holding the drive in place removing them will let u remove the drive for non-screws tabs hold the drive in place pressing the tab in or out should let u remove the drive

System restore will not do what your asking.

However there is a way but you will need a Installation cd Assume you have Windows XP

Then you need to borrow or buy a Windows XP Home Edition or Pro

You can buy one used from Ebay.

There are two options !.Repair install this will save all files/data on your hard drive.

Follow these instructions to Repair install.

Boot the computer using the XP CD.

You may need to change the boot order in the system BIOS so the CD boots before the hard drive.

Check your system documentation for steps to access the BIOS and change the boot order.

When you see the "Welcome To Setup" screen, you will see the options below

Windows XP to run on your computer:

To setup Windows XP now, press ENTER.
To repair a Windows XP installation using Recovery Console, press R.

To quit Setup without installing Windows XP, press F3.
Press Enter to start the Windows Setup.

I repeat, do not choose "To repair a Windows XP installation using the Recovery Console, press R".

You may wind up buying the Power Button Board, and Flat Flex Cable, then.
