If you have reset the CMOS memory you need to go into the BIOS setup screen and reconfigure the BIOS. To do that you need to press a key while the computer is booting. If you don't know the settings the should be one for optimal defaults - use that one. You will also need to reset the time and date. Save, Exit and re-boot and everything should then work. Black screen

It looks like the screen inverter has failed. It is repairable, but check the cost of repair against the cost of replacement to see if its viable.

It's a component on a circuit board which has died.

You've not lost your information, that is still on your PC, a separate unit.

But what I would suggest is, when you've got a screen sorted out, you back up your information. I would back up Music, Photo's, Movies and Documents you need to keep to DVD's. Then you've got the for years to come and they're not going to suffer a mechanical failure.

High speed usb port toshiba a100 331

Shouldn't matter so long as your computer uses usb 2.0. If it is using or only capable of 1.1 then you just might want to consider a new computer. But to tell you the truth never noticed much difference between 2.0 and 1.1 on a webcam. Hope this helps

How can i restore a toshiba equium l20-197 back to factory settings

System restore will not do what your asking.

However there is a way but you will need a Installation cd Assume you have Windows XP

Then you need to borrow or buy a Windows XP Home Edition or Pro

You can buy one used from Ebay.

There are two options !.Repair install this will save all files/data on your hard drive.

Follow these instructions to Repair install.

Boot the computer using the XP CD.

You may need to change the boot order in the system BIOS so the CD boots before the hard drive.

Check your system documentation for steps to access the BIOS and change the boot order.

When you see the "Welcome To Setup" screen, you will see the options below This portion of the Setup program prepares Microsoft Windows XP to run on your computer:

To setup Windows XP now, press ENTER.To repair a Windows XP installation using Recovery Console, press R.

To quit Setup without installing Windows XP, press F3.Press Enter to start the Windows Setup. Do not choose "To repair a Windows XP installation using the Recovery Console, press R", (you Do Not want to load Recovery Console).

I repeat, do not choose "To repair a Windows XP installation using the Recovery Console, press R".

Accept the License Agreement and Windows will search for existing Windows installations. Select the XP installation you want to repair from the list and press R to start the repair.

If Repair is not one of the options, END setup.

After the reboot

Setup will copy the necessary files to the hard drive and reboot.

Do not press any key to boot from CD when the message appears.

Setup will continue as if it were doing a clean install, but your applications and settings will remain intact.2. If you want to do a clean install that will completely wipe your hard drive clean then follow the instructions from this site http://www.winsupersite.com/showcase/win...

You will then need to reload all Microsoft Windows Updates and find all other drivers and software from http://uk.computers.toshiba-europe.com/c...

Then wham bam you should be back in business.

hope this helps

I have toshiba equium a100-338 and the power button will not work

The cable (Wire) stays attached to the Power Button Board,http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2270-POWER-SWITCH-BUTTON-TOSHIBA-EQUIUM-A100-/221111621689?pt=UK_Computing_Other_Computing_Networking&hash=item337b479839No, I'm wrong? The Flat Flex Cable (FFC) does come out of a ZIF connector on the Power Button Board? You may wind up buying the Power Button Board, and Flat Flex Cable, then.Or you may find a 'Mom and Pop' computer store, that can repair the cable.Regards, joecoolvette

Toshiba washing machine model AW-DK1700WMM has turn on, beeps with error code EL then shut down within 5 seconds, how can I slove this problem?

To fix the EL error code: * Make sure the door is completely closed and latched securely. A loose or broken latch can cause the error. *Examine the door lock for any damage, dirt, or debris that could prevent it from working properly. Clean the area thoroughly. * Turn off the washing machine, then unplug it for a few minutes. Plug it back in and restart it. This may resolve communication issues that trigger the error. * Examine the wiring connections between the door lock system and the control panel. Faulty connections, such as loose or damaged wires, can disrupt communication and lead to the error message.
