Dell optiplex gx2700 will boot but is very slow (running XP) and the task manager says I'm constantlyusing 100% CPU, even when I have all my apps closed. wHY? AND HOW DOI i FIX?

Raqndall,1) Has the computer been cleaned out on the inside, to your knowledge? If not it's dirty inside, and that is one of your major problems.Buy 2 cans of compressed air, and post back in a Comment when you are ready.I'll detail Anti-Static Procedures, and how to properly clean out the inside of the computer. 3) Suggest the Thermal Paste has dried up.The top of a Processor (CPU), and the bottom of the finned Heatsink that sits on top of it; are not perfectly smooth.A magnified view would detail, 'Ridges, Valleys, and Pitholes'.When the two parts are mated together, Air Pockets are created.Air in this case is an Insulator, not a Conductor.Thermal Paste fills the above imperfections, and is an Excellent conductor of heat.Conducts heat from the Processor to the Heatsink.[The Heatsink then absorbs the heat. The Tall, Thin, fins of the Heatsink, then radiate the heat away.Air flow from the processor fan, helps carry heat away from the Heatsink's fins ]After repeated heating, and age; the Thermal Paste dries up.Looses it's thermal conductivity properties.I can step by step guide you through both procedures stated above.Post back in a Comment.Regards,joecoolvettehttp://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3071621&CatId=503http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/274

My Dell Gx270 desktop pc not display not working keyboard while having Ram & pros/ all things.

not making much sense to me not display not working keyboard while having Ram & pros/ all things. ???? WARNING: Before you start troubleshooting remember that you are dealing with electricity that can KILL. http://www.kitchentablecomputers.com/static.php - rules Only work inside the computer case when the power has been switched off and disconnected. Never open the power source. Some of the below steps recommend removing physical parts within the computer. While in the computer it is highly recommend that you be aware of ESD and its potential hazards Remove the memory modules from their slots. Take the opportunity to clean the slots on the motherboards and the memory module connectors. Use compressed air to blow dust away and clean contacts with a soft cloth. Do not use a metallic vacuum cleaner if it touches any component it may create a short and cause damage to the motherboard or other components. Do not use solvent that may attract dust and never poke things like cotton buds in to slots. lightly rub an alcohol (Methylated Spirits) on a cloth not to hard let the alcohol do the work on the copper gold or silver tabs and r Allow the pins to dry. They will air dry in a matter of minutes If reseating the memory did not resolve the issue try swapping the location of the memory. If you have only one stick of memory in the computer try moving it to another slot and then boot the computer. Check the memory module and memory slot contacts. They are either copper tin or gold. The colour will tell you which they are. Mixing tin and gold can result in corrosion that prevents proper contact. Look for any sign of physical damage to the memory module, memory slots or the motherboard. Reseat the memory modules. You should hear an audible click when they are in place. Do not use too much force to reseat the memory module in to the slot this can cause damage to the module, slot or motherboard. The hardware that you are trying to access is damaged or failing. Could be a problem with the Hard Drive or the Hard drives PCB http://www.onepcbsolution.com/ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=du0Qd_3wFWM There is a connection problem such as a bad cable Test all power and data leads that attach to your hard drive SATA the leads from your MOTHERBOARD TO THE HARD DRIVE make sure they have a secure dust free connections and are not faulty. Although it would be very rare for the sata lead to be faulty. Make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd have secure connections and are not faulty Computers need power and data to travel through every working device and continue its cycle and have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error

I need an ethernet driver for my dell optipleX GX280

You can download the LAN and device drivers from Dell WEB site, the support download page. Make sure you select your model desktop or laptop, better still, type in the Service Tag number, it is printed on the label on the bottom of the laptop and on the back or sides of a desktop. (If the Service Tag label is missing then go into the BIOS setting and on one of the BIOS pages, the Service Tag number will be displayed). This will open the page where the specific drivers for your model computer are located. Also make sure you select the Windows of the drivers for your Windows operating system. Click on this link to download the drivers: - http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/index.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen

Install windows 95 from floppy

Microsoft Windows 95 employs the use of a bootable floppy disk to begin the installation of the Windows 95 operating system or to troubleshoot problems with the system. Microsoft Windows 95 uses the MS-DOS system to boot the computer first and then loads the Windows 95 operating system onto the machine. Windows 95 Boot Disks may be created in one of two ways: The Startup disk may be created from within Windows or a boot disk may be created from a free downloaded boot disk image. After the boot disk is created the disk may be used to boot the computer and install or troubleshoot Windows 95. Click "Start" and then click "Settings" in Windows 95. Click the "Control Panel" option. Click "Add and Remove Programs." Click "Startup Disk" and then click "Create." Insert the blank floppy disk into the disk drive. Click "OK." The operating system will create the Windows 95 boot disk. Click "OK" when the disk is finished. Create the Windows 95 Boot Disk using Downloaded Boot Disk Image Open a Web browser and navigate to the boot disk image site (See "Below"). http://www.bootdisk.com/bootdisk.htm Download the Windows 95 boot disk image and save the .EXE file to the desktop. Click the .EXE file to unzip the enclosed files. The formatting application will start. Insert the blank floppy disk into the disk drive and click "OK." The Windows 95 boot image will be created on the blank floppy disk. Use the Windows 95 Boot Disk Insert the Windows 95 boot up disk into the computer's floppy disk drive. Power the computer down by clicking "Start" and then clicking "Shutdown." Power on the computer with the Windows 95 boot disk in the floppy disk drive. The computer will boot up into MS-DOS to enable installation or troubleshooting of Windows 95.

A malware like virus or incompatible software, so does broken hardware may lead to computer keeps restarting. To fix your computer you can try the following steps.1.You should troubleshooting whether if the computer restarts every time a certain hardware device is plugged in or switched on, the device itself might be to blame. Check drivers update for the device, and download and install them to erase any bugs that might exist in your version. Similarly, if the freeze only happens when using one particular application, that program might also be the root cause. Otherwise switch to step 2.2.It can be a possibility that the virus has tampered with your operating system settings and system files. You can detect the presence of the virus by the antivirus program.3.The most convenient and effective way is to use a professional software, there are kinds of software for you to fix the issue online.
