Tough to tell, but in my many years with PCs, 75% of the time it's a bad power supply. It's an easy, cheap fix. Any place that sells computer components should have a new on. Take the old one with you. Just ask for help. The other possibility is far more dastardly. It could be the mother board is fried. That almost alwqays maeans a new computer, unless yours is quite new.

When yahoo is telling you, you should download a new version, they also send a link to the site where you can download the software. Next to the new software they also want some more details from you and they ask for rights to advertise. Click the link and it should go o.k.

Error code 7 means that your hard disk drive failed and is defective. As for reloading windows XP, I wouldn't. It's not supported by Microsoft any more. I would load Win 7 after replaceing the drive.

Hmm,tricky, I think your best bet would be to save old drive and do a complete new programme install hopefully you have the discs, then once setup and running, connect old drive as a backup and transfer data you require, there may be a better way, this is what I would seriously consider.
