Hi,You must go to bios and change the booting sequence to CD drive and you need to check if the cd from which you are trying to install windows xp is a boo table one you can do so by inserting the cd in a different system and try. IF not then check if your cd drive is working by inserting any cd in it.RegardsSamson Ved

if you want to change the operating system then put the CD / DVD of Windows 7 or Vista Bootable Disk and change the Bios settings like First Boot Device and Second Boot Device. Before all these things try to take the Data backup

There is a jumper on the motherboard that has 3 pins put jumper on other side for 5second and then put back with the power turn off.Or remove battery for a couple of minutes. That will reset the Bios.

Try re-installing the two new sticks two or three times. Sometimes there is a little build up of oxides on the contacts on the motherboard and keeps the bios from properly recognizing them.

Insure that you have administrative rights, set to allow you to install the software and turn off your antivirus software (note: turning off antivirus software should be done with no internet or network connection). Then reload the software drivers. If you still have difficulty installing the drivers, go to the update area of the device section and see if the driver will automaticly update through the provided software. (Use the help content of your operating system for further information)

I did check out other solutions for you that others have wrote they are correct you will have to check for compatibility for the board that you wish to use. By the time it is said and done I would purchase a board the is ready for the processor your wanting to use. If you have a chip already and your nervy enough place it in the slot and see if it will work all that will happen is a reject. Make sure that it fits the slot correctly. Otherwise purchase a new board for your chip or buy a combo good ones are at tigerdirect.com or newegg.com great fair prices I would go that way, you will receive a disc for all the drivers and you will not have problems going that route. there is 4 different ones.
3 with intel driver and 1 with sis driver.
I can`t tell you the one that fits your system you have to try it.
