Following the advice to open the glass cover and look for the lock, I found that a stray piece of paper was inside the printer. Removing it has fixed it. Thanks for the pointer.

Uninstall print driver from Control Panel for this printer. Then download from here http://esupport.epson-europe.com/ProductHome.aspx?lng=en-GB&data=lkuCfcvA9cylam4YENGAE0588U4qxgxt&tc=6 then re-install

make sure it is active on LTset LT or device to discovery modewhen other unit discovers it u will be asked for a passcodethe other should be displaying what that isenter itdone

maybe logic board think it may be time to replace this printer.

You need to install a specific scan-software from Epson. You can find it on your software CD that comes with your printer, or you can download it here:

Your printer needs to be wifi capable in order to connect to a wireless router.Please its manual.
