I have the Board ASUS P5VDC-MX. And I wonder that

No, you can't use a PCIe x16 card in any of the slots on the P5VDC-MX board. A PCIe x16 card can't fit into the PCIe x1 slot. Attempting to force a PCIe x16 card into the PCIe X1 slot will break the card or bend the pins. A PCIe x1 card will work in a PCIe x4, x8 or x16 slot, though. Similarly, the AGP and PCI slots are not compatible with the PCIe x16 card design. I wish that I had better news for you. Cindy Wells

Audio driver for motherboard P5VDM

There are two models of this motherboard. Click on the link below and then on the model you have. You may have to look at the board where it says P5VDM and it may have Rev2.0 after it. Use the appropriate link to get to the Audio file where the driver is located. When you have the driver click on the Setup.exe file and not the Asus Setup.exe file and it should install ok.

Display problem

Hi,
Graphics problems are always an issue when playing games on PC,s. you need a hell of a system to Run top Notch Graphics.
Hence the XBOX 360/ PS3 are solely dedicated to running such graphics. Bear in mind that a Computer Multi-tasks. just to startup and run a windows operating system, is already using up a fair share of Your memory ( RAM ) And system resources.
Certain games require functions from the graphics cards to be present. i.e Anti-aliasing Or Accelerated graphics support et,c.
If you look at the games Minimum requirements, such as operating system-minimum memory-recommended graphics card et,c. This should point you towards what your system is lacking. You are probably lacking in Memory or graphics card Memory or Spec.
heres a suggestion. try freeing up some system memory, by closing down applications, that are not being used.
Also you could check the properties of your Graphics card, And maybe alter a few settings if supported by the Card.
Also ensure that you have the DirectX drivers installed that supports your O/S. Downloadable From Microsofts website.
hope this points you in the Right direction.

Graphics card no picture on monitor when connected via HDMI or any cable?

The issue you are experiencing with your graphics card and monitor can be caused by various factors. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try to identify and resolve the problem: 1. Check power connections: Ensure that the graphics card has the necessary power connections properly connected. Some higher-end graphics cards require additional power connectors, such as 6-pin or 8-pin PCIe power connectors. Make sure they are firmly plugged in. 2. Verify BIOS settings: Access your motherboard's BIOS settings and check if the primary display output is set to the PCIe slot where your graphics card is installed. It should be set to prioritize the discrete graphics card instead of the integrated graphics (if applicable). 3. Update BIOS and drivers: Visit the Gigabyte website and make sure you have the latest BIOS version installed for your motherboard. Additionally, download and install the latest drivers for your graphics card from the XFX or AMD website. Outdated firmware or drivers can cause compatibility issues. 4. Reset BIOS: Try resetting the BIOS to its default settings. Locate the CMOS battery on your motherboard, remove it for a few minutes, then reinsert it. This action resets the BIOS settings to their defaults and may resolve any conflicting configurations. 5. Check for physical damage: Inspect the graphics card for any physical damage, loose connections, or faulty components. Ensure that it is securely inserted into the PCIe slot and that there are no visible signs of damage on the card or its connectors. 6. Test with a different monitor and cable: Connect your graphics card to a different monitor using a different cable (e.g., DisplayPort, DVI) to rule out potential issues with the HDMI cable or the monitor itself. This helps determine if the problem lies with the graphics card or the specific combination of monitor and cable. 7. Check for motherboard compatibility: Verify that your graphics card is compatible with your motherboard. Check the manufacturer's website for compatibility lists or consult the user manual for your motherboard. In some cases, a BIOS update might be necessary to ensure compatibility. 8. Seek professional assistance: If none of the above steps resolve the issue, it's advisable to contact the technical support of your motherboard or graphics card manufacturer. They may have specific troubleshooting steps or recommend further action, such as warranty service or component replacement. Remember to handle your hardware with care and take necessary precautions, such as grounding yourself and disconnecting the power supply, before performing any physical checks or adjustments.

I am using an Asus Vivo mini computer approx 5 years old. Since December I often receive error message across top, "Microsoft Edge (not responding)"

Question edited for clarity and toss in a load of CAPS as needed. Microsoft Edge is one of the worst browsers ever invented. It is flashy and looks pretty, but is not user friendly and is glitchy. The most likely issue for that Error Message is your Internet Wifi signal dropping out. You can test this theory two ways. Do you have a smartphone? Download the Free App Speedtest. When you get the Edge Error, whip out your phone and do a Speed Test. If it stalls or only returns a speed of 5 to 10 mbps, that is your issue. Or Download Google Chrome which is FREE and a much more robust browser and easier to use. Keep both Edge and Chrome open, when Edge collapses, try to do things on Chrome. If Chrome works, then the issue is Edge. If Chrome also fails, the issue is your Wifi and Router. A Router reboot should be done about once a month. My asus laptop turns on but there is just black, the power indicator says its on.

If you are experiencing a black screen issue on your laptop, the first thing you should do is to make sure your laptop is powered up correctly. Check the cable from the power adapter to the laptop, and make sure it is firmly plugged in. If it is, then you should try resetting the power supply on your laptop. To do this, unplug the power adapter from the laptop, press and hold the power button for 30 seconds, and then plug the power adapter back in. If the laptop still does not display any images, you should try reseating the RAM chips. First, try to turn off and unplug your laptop, and then remove the battery. After that, open up the RAM memory slot, and use a screwdriver to press down on the RAM chip securely. Then, replace the RAM chips and the battery before turning on your laptop. If these troubleshooting steps do not work, then it is likely that your laptop may have a hardware issue, and you should take it to a repair shop.
