Sounds like you could have a main logic board problem. Try restoring computer to factory defaults from the intermec settings.

"Check serial Input" is just part of the cycle on boot up. It checks for a key press on boot up so that it can access a hidden menu. A cradle, serial null modem cable and hyper-terminal is required to bring up this menu

You can try and re-install the operating system.

Download the latest image from Intermec (you will need to register) and then load the image onto an SD card.

Remove the front cover just above the scan engine; 2 slot head screws and insert the SD card. Cold boot the device. Take off battery and hit the reset button a few times. Re-install battery.

Image will begin to reload.

NOTE: The latest image downloads from Intermec not longer have the Telnet application pre-installed. If you require the telnet client then select a previous version, but then also not that there are usually 2 versions EX25 and non-EX25 scan engine type.

hi o obtain the MAC address on a CK3X, CK3R,and 70 Series Handheld computer, follow the steps below:

1. Tap the 'Windows' button on the lower left hand corner.
2. Scroll towards the bottom of the Windows screen to the "ISpyWiFi" application and tap to launch it.
3. ISpyWiFi will open up in the ISpy tab.
4. At the top of the screen, look for the 'WiFI NIC' quadrant which displays the MAC address.

hi The newest versions of the firmware are on the intermec website. You will have to register in order to download, but a fake name/address will work...if it is a 740/750 the newest firmware is 4.51 PSM 3.93.1, and if it is a 741/751 the newest firmware is 4.95.1 PSM 4.06. the 760 and 761 have different versions of firmware depending if it is GPRS or CDMA.
