Lay set face down on table with several towells laid out flat under it.
Undo all screws holding back on & lift it off you may need to remove tv stand to remove back.
Once back is off either locate speakers & unplug the leads from them remember to insulate the loose wires & tie them up out of the way.
Or trace wires from speakers to there plugs & sockets on main Pcb & unplug them & thats it.
Screw rear of set back on & ensure volume is set low or at zero.

Test back lights tv
Back - light problem. Check and replace damaged component/s at its back-light inverter board, or replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. It will be best to replace the inverter board as card basis.

To some model sets; especially LED back-lighted types; the back-light inverter circuit will be part of the main power supply board [SMPS]. In such cases, the power supply board might need replacement. To some models sets, the back-light inverter and SMPS section circuit will be integrated at its main board itself. If so; the main board should be replaced. To some models of sets, all these section circuit will be integrated at its main board. If this is the case, you have to replace the main digital board.//

Where are the fuses that
Hello Gary, you can find the fuses on the power supply board which is located inside the TV, they look like medicine capsules made from glass and for contact capped with a sheet of metal. Here is a picture of a SAMPLE LCD power supply board.

There is no sound
Look at the top of the main board. There are two capacitors together. Look at the area just to the top of the board and behind the capacitors. There is a very small resistor(flat) soldered to the board. I had the same problem, so I removed bad resistor and replaced it with a 10 ohm resistor from Radio Shack. Sound is back. Cost a couple of bucks and took about an hour in all. Hope this helps.

Great picture but no sound.
Check to see if sound when a DVD via the rear inputs is played--rules a lot in or out. Also look in menu to see speakers did not get switched to OFF.
