I have an Polaroid LCD Tv Model FLM 323B and it

It can be dying power supply due to bad caps, that will be the first place to look.
More troubleshooting will be needed if the power supply checked out OK.
First, look at the screen in darkened room to see if you can see any slight glow from the screen, if it does, then the problem can be the T-CON (not getting the 12vdc) or the main logic board not feeding the signals to the T-CON board. if not, next place to check will be the power supply module, make sure it has 24vdc which is required by the backlight inverter to work, the reason for not having 24vdc can be from bad DC filter caps (leaking/bulging top, high ESR) or short circuits in the inverter board which will cause the 24vdc supply to go into shutdown mode, so you may have to disconnect the power cable that feed the inverter board to see if the 24vdc will work without the inverter board hookup, you will need to apply about 3~4 amp of load to the 24vdc to make sure it can handle that. There are fuses on the backlight inverter boards also. So there is some troubleshooting you will have to do to find out the causes of the problem you are having. If you are going to DIY and have proper tools, electronics knowledge, and know safety precaution then please read on: Please see my basic troubleshooting guide here: http://www.fixya.com/support/r5093881-lcd_flat_panel_tv_troubleshooting_guide http://www.fixya.com/support/r6150077-basic_lcd_monitors_troubleshooting Failed TV and Monitors: http://s807.photobucket.com/albums/yy352/budm Learn about bad caps: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capacitor_plague Parts: www.shopjimmy.com Capacitors kit: http://lcdalternatives.auctivacommerce.com/Default.aspx he can make you a set of caps. Or www.digikey.com just make sure to use caps with low ESR, 105c rating such as PANASONIC FM or FC series. Please post back what you find.

No sound

Mute button?
Let verify first to narrow down to where the problem can be, attach the powered PC speakers to the Audio Line out RCA jacks to see if you can get the sound there, if you do, then the problem can be in the power amp circuits, if you do not get the sound at RCA jacks, then the problem can be in the sound processor circuit. Please post back what you find. You may be better off if the sound does work through the PC speakers, to get the TV repaired; it will be more than $100 and up. Hi i have fla-323b it

Can you get daylight on it? It sounds like the backlight is not working; if you can get some daylight on the screen when there should be a picture, can you see (very very very faintly) and picture there?

You use daylight as it has some distinct light polarisation and so the lcd's twisting affects the light and you can see if the LCD is ok or not.

If the backlight bulb is gone then it needs replacing; quite costly I'm afraid.

Hi - I have a

Hi,

This is a very common problem with Polaroid TV's, especially this model. It usually relates to a defective U401 (FLI8125) which is a single chip video processor and LCD controller. It is a "do it all" part that many times doesn't do it all. It is sometimes related to a power supply issue as well.
Depending on when you bought it, I would contact Polaroid customer service or the repair will most likely cost you as much as a new set. I have heard reports of them offering owners a substantial discount on a like replacement even out of warranty. Part of the reason for repair cost being high is because these sets are very service unfriendly, which results in entire boards being replaced, and parts are difficult to obtain in a reasonable time frame.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

It turns on Polaroid shows

Hi
A common problem for these is bad capacitors in the power supply, Remove the back from your Tv and look at the power supply on the left hand side.

You will see roughly around 9 x capacitors that are bulged / domed shaped on top usually these are valued at 3300uf 10V any that have bulged or leaked a brown like substance should be changed.
This will cure the problem as they overheat being sat next to a heatsink that gets very hot!
Try and change them for the same 3300uf but a higher voltage.
Hope this help to solve the problem.

I have a Polariod FLM-323B

This is a classic switchmode power supply, it is shutting down the Power Supply, to avoid a fire, explosion, or both. This set had developed a problem, that is so severe that the set must be shut down, This set should be removed from the Power, and in my professional recommendation, you should get a "Quote" for repair, from, an, Approved Service Center, this point is very important for a good result, Always contact, their local, "Head Office" Now, when you get the information you want, then you can decide as to repair of replacement. The reason we want an approved agent, is that way, all the engineers are trained on their own brand sets, they have seen almost all faults, and will get the job done quicker, and for less cost, and usually have parts on hand, also sometimes, there has been a service bulletin in issued and the repair may be subsided or even free.
please find below a service and repair manual, have a look through this manual to get an ides of exactly what may be going on in your set. and if you decide to DIY, at least you have the most important tool the service manual.
below is your user manual.

Set the audio line out to be variable so you can still use the TV remote to control the PC sound level.
