Does my tv have a QAM tuner

The Polaroid FLM-323B does not have a QAM (clear digital cable) tuner. It only has NTSC (analog) and ATSC (digital OTA) tuners. Retrevo has the manuals for the Polaroid FLM-323B here: http://www.retrevo.com/support/Polaroid-FLM-323B-TVs-manual/id/279ag018/t/2/ . You will need to enter a code to access the PDFs.I wish that I had better news for you.You will need a set-top box if you want to watch digital cable.Cindy Wells

Screen isn't blue when you turn on its white

The most common cause of white screen and no picture problems on this unit is a failure of the power supply board. Here is a repair guide with full dis-assembly and repair instructions that should be able to get you back going again. This guide is for the Visco TVs but the boards are the same as the Polaroid modelhttp://www.ccl-la.com/blog/index.php/visco-vsc-37v1-no-picture-lets-repair-it/I hope this helps, if so please rate my solution.BuddyMc

Polaroid FLM 323b LCD sound but no picture.

Well, you need to find out if it is putting out the 24vdc for the backlights inverter board, if it does, then check to see if the 24vdc is at the inverter board, check the surface mounted fuses on the inverter board, check to see if it has BL_ON signal. One thing about bad caps, they can look normal and correct value but they can have high ESR which is bad for switching power supply circuits.

Polaroid flm-323b right side of screen is dark I

hi,
As mentioned by you The problem will be with the display driver ( T- con ) board. This board controls the pixels in the lcd screen. Normally in lcd tvs the T con board is situated at the bottom centre position. Will be cover with metal cover or an aluminium foil to avoid interfearence. In this board there will be four strip wire connected which is going to the LCD panel. Fist of all remove these strip wires and reconnect it. Some times improper connection of there wire can lead to such problems. If the picture looks the same then you have to replace the T-con board. Because there is no repair possible with this board. If this board fault the picture will look fuzzy, splited dual image, improper positioning etc can occur. ahve added the picture of T con board.
ok

Same problem everyone else is talking about just

Verify that you do have 5vdc standby voltage on the output pins of the power supply, you need this before going further, you can get parts here: http://www.shopjimmy.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=FLM-323B+

We had a storm last

Did the fuse blow? And when you put in the new fuse, did it blow right away.
For five year old TV, the common failure will be the power supply module and the processor on the main board since it will be running 24/7 even when the TV is off, this make it subject to all kind of surges and spikes (I kill the power my TV's when not in use using my power conditioner power switch).
The main board can be damaged also.
Repair shop will more likely to charge you $50 to give you the estimate, typical repair will be $150 and up plus parts.

If you are going to DIY and have proper tools, electronics knowledge, and know safety precaution then please read on: Basic LCD monitor and TV troubleshooting guide: http://www.fixya.com/support/r5093881-lcd_flat_panel_tv_troubleshooting_guide http://www.fixya.com/support/r6150077-basic_lcd_monitors_troubleshooting http://www.fixya.com/support/r7406380-tv_training_manuals Failed TV and Monitors pictures: http://s807.photobucket.com/albums/yy352/budm Learn about bad caps: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capacitor_plague Parts: www.shopjimmy.com Parts: http://interliquidparts.com/ Capacitors kit: http://lcdalternatives.auctivacommerce.com/Default.aspx he can make you a set of caps.
