The problem could be your display. Use the VGA port on the side of your laptop to connect it to a computer monitor, this will let you know if your system is posting or not. (If you see the Boot Screen it is posting).

Battery Cut off - Lid cut off problem
Sounds like the video card is loose. It's located underneath your keyboard - remove the plastic strip above it, then the two screws that hold the keyboard down, lift keyboard up and set it upside down on the palmrest. The video card is the square piece of circuit board that's partially covered by your palmrest. Push down on the side that's closest to you - and that should do it.

Turned on computer, just black screen, nothing
Hi there, any hearable sound when you press power button on your laptop? For exam: long beeps. I suggest you remove the RAM clean it properly and fix it again. Power on and see, there is any change or not. Thanks & waiting for your feedback.

While using the laptop on battery it unexpectedly
aside from the battery (big one) there is another battery connected to your motherboard, it is not accessible unless you open the casing of your laptop.
bring it to a service center and have it replace(it is almost a size of a watch battery)

WON'T START
You either have a faulty power supply or the power button is bad.Bad ram will sometimes cause power on problems as well.

One of five PCs not connecting to Belkin 54G router
I would connect it to the router using a lan cable to verify that it will get a IP address and connect to the internet. Write down the IP information and make a static wireless connection with that info. It should work hardwired and wirelessly with this info. If it doesn't work wirelessly you may have a bad wireless card or you may find that their is already conflicting static IP info in the connection that has to be removed. Make sure that on your internet protocol (TCP/IP) properties that you have selected "Obtain an IP address automatically" and Obtain DNS server address automatically". Clear any settings that you may see there.
