Can you rephrase the question?

Does the password come up instantly when the power is turned on or does the laptop load windows and then ask for your password?

If it loads windows, press F8 repeatedly while the computer is starting up, before the windows logo comes. Select safe mode from the list.

When the safemode loads, you will be presented with a Administrator user account, (XP and older) click on the administrator to sign in, if you haven't set a password to it you will be able to sign in and remove or change the forgotten password on your user account - start - control panel - user accounts.

If you have a password prompt that comes up instantly when the power is pressed on, there are few possible ways to get rid of it, The best being contacting your dealer or acer directly for the service.

If you are outside of warranty and you are willing to open up the machine, disconnect the bios battery for 20 minutes and place it back in, try starting up, some laptops may have a small switch to remove the password but it is very rare.

Because we can not never confirm that you are the owner of this laptop I will not give you further instructions, theres noting you can do to proof that your the owner of the laptop so please take it to acer or a local professional to get it removed.

I think Steve is correct, it's sounds like XP 64 bit or a Vista issue.

The driver for your wireless card should be HERE.If that doesn't enable it, you can go to the Acer drivers site and download the driver for your system HERE.You can Select"Notebook, Ultrabook" --> "Aspire" --> "Aspire 3680"Then select your operating system from the pop-up and select the Drivers tab.

Lens must have been damaged or the side trays must have got damaged which can be replaced with the company.Next time when using dont remove the drive fully remove it partially and insert the disk

there are some reasons laptop can't power on, try to troubleshoot.
1. Make sure that your ac adapter is working. if you plug battery and ac adapter, the battery chargin led will be orange and if the battery is full, the led will be yellow.
2. Can you power on using battery ? if you can and you can't power on using ac adapter (i assume your ac adapter is working). the problem will be your power port.
if you can't power on using battery and your battery is working ok. the problem will be motherboard.

If you lost windows password. I think the best solution is making a windows password recovery disk with the third part utility. The disk works perfectly to recover windows password to “Blank”.It is also useful for administrator password recovery, you can wrote it to an blank CD or USB flash drive to recover administrator password. There are three little spring loaded things that you have to push together to get the DVD or CD to fit, I had the same problem

You need to boot with your windows vista cd and select repair install. This will reinstall the windows files, including the ntldr file, leaving your data intact. Make sure you only do the repair install, if you do the full install, it may wipe your data.

as long as the connectivity is the same ie; sata then you can pretty much put and size or brand of h/d in your machine but try to keep the speed of the new one the same or better as it makes your p.c run better
