Can I replace burner tubes
Hi Susan
Yes you can replace the burner assy...go to walmart or your local bbq parts house...look at your burner first to get an idea of what it looks like before you go to purchase

I have a weber E320
It is the gas flowing through the diaphragm of the regulator. It is common here in South Florida where we have alot of humidity. It is nothing to be concerned. You can also spray soapy water around the regulator fittings if you are concerned of any leaking around the regulator.

IS PROPANE TANK RESIGNED TO BE MOUNTED VERTICAL OR HORIZONTAL? The Outflow tube of the vertically mounted tank runs to within an inch of the bottom of the tank. The horizontally mounted Tank Design has an outflow tube that has a 90 degree bend half way down to 1" of the side of the tank if it mounted in the wrong orientation for it's design, it stops picking up LPG halfway down. When used in it's proper application, the orientation would be correct for gas pickup. A tank designed for horizontal mounting used in a verticle position picks up LPG for half of the tank, then it will light (because of the fumes are flammable) but do not posses the density to heat. (Too much Air) in the mixture fuel to air ratio. We found this out after pulling the shut off valve off of a tank with same problem. It was a horzontal tank used in a verticle positiuon. It worked for half a tank of fuel.
Full tank but no gas smell and just bought a new
follow this steps and fix it. God bless youTest the propane tank valve for leaks:
- Turn the grill control knobs on the front (and, on some models, the side) of the barbecue to the off position.
- Turn the propane tank valve fully counterclockwise to close it.
- Mix a test solution of equal parts of dishwashing liquid and water in a small container.
- To test for leaks, apply the test solution liberally to the
connection between the regulator fitting and the tank valve using a
small paint brush. Apply the test solution to the valve handle and
threads, the length of the hose, and the connection between the hose and
the regulator. If bubbles appear at any point, there is a gas leak.
- Tighten the connections and retest.
- If you still see bubbles at any of the tested connections, close the tank valve and replace the leaking component.
Test the hose fittings for leaks:
- With the tank valve open, brush the test solution on the fitting at the other end of the hose, located under the control knobs.
- Turn the control knob to high and test the hose and fittings leading
from the control knob to the grill. Turn the right control knob to off.
Repeat the process for the other control knobs.
- If you see any bubbles during any of these tests, close the tank
valve and contact your propane dealer or your local gas utility. Do not
use the barbecue until the leak is corrected

Battery igniter
If you have an electric igniter, you need to locate where on the side of the grill the battery (e.g. AA size) that generates the electricity for the igniter is located. Replace the battery, and assure the contacts are cleaned (as they may have corrosion if grill located outside). Then check where the ground of the igniter is connected to the grill. I unscrewed the screw where the ground was located, cleaned off the corrosion with a fine sandpaper, then reconnected it to a new screw on the cabinet.
Replace burner tubes

I would clean the burner , clean igniter with some steel wool and check wire from it is not damaged or fallen off.
My grill is not getting a flame to the back
The cross over burner tube that lights the rear burners may be clogged or has rusted closed. The only way to know, is to carefully remove and inspect it.
I hope this helped you and thanks for choosing FixYa.
The grill will turn on, the pilot light seems on,
The problem you're experiencing is due to the grills regulator being locked up.
To solve this problem, first be sure you have adequate gas in the tank. If that checks out OK, do the following:
1. Turn the gas tank valve OFF and disconnect the hose from the tank.
2. Wait 5 minutes and reconnect the hose to the tank.
3. Open the tank valve VERY, VERY SLOWLY (Slow motion, slow).
4. Once the tank valve is fully open, light the burner farthest from the tank first and set the burner
control knob on HIGH. Does the flame height look correct for being set on HIGH? If so, light
the remaining burners the same way. Do all the burner flames look correct? If so, you solved
the problem. Remember, to always open the tank valve Very, Very Slowly.
If that didn't solve the problem, you will need to replace the grill's
Hose/Regulator Assembly. It runs about $30.00 at any home center or
hardware store that sells grills & accessories. If you replace it,
turn the tank valve ON Very, Very Slowly.
Hope this helped you to troubleshoot and solve the problem. Happy Grilling.!! Thanks for choosing FixYa.
Installing burner tubes
On a lot of weber grills, the back of the tube burners have tabs that slide into slots in the back wall of the fire box. You have to take off the front control panel so the valves will move forward. This will allow the burners to move forward out of the slots. Install the new burners and be very, very careful to get the new burners mounted on the valves correctly when you put the front plate back on, or you will have a flash back fire problem.
My back burners wont light
If the Cross Over Tube/Burner is clogged, the ignition flame can't get to the last 2 burners to light them. To check this, light the front 2 burners using the ignitor button and try match lighting the back burners. If they match light, that indicates that the Cross Over Tube is clogged. You will need to remove it to clean it properly. Which can be a chore in itself. Be careful removing it, because if it's rusted, it may break.
Hope this helped you, Kevin and thanks for choosing FixYa.
Mount propane tank
The tank has openings in the handle or frame around the valve. These openings should slip over a mounting bracket on the grill frame under the control knob platform. You may have to loosen a thumb screw to loosen a retaining piece that helps secure the tank on the mounting bracket.
3 burner - front and
It might be an igniter problem. It might be a problem with the gas tank (either empty or not releasing the gas). It could be a problem with the control valves or even with a safety mechanism that prevents relighting the grill after multiple tries because of a possible gas build-up. Make sure the gas tank is full and releasing gas - you should be able to hear a hissing noise in the burner compartment. If you can hear the noise then you need to check the igniter and make sure you are getting a spark, and that the spark is reaching the burner. If you can't hear a noise then either the control valves are the problem or the safety mechanism is operating. You can also call Weber and they are pretty good at helping you figure out the problem.
I flavorizer bars are dirty and all stacked on top
Just scrape them clean with a brass bristle grill brush. The place the over each burner lengthwise from front to back. There will be an ledge just inside the grill head that they rest on. One ledge in the front, one in the back. That way, they rest about 2" or more above each burner. It's alright if the touch each other from side to side. That's about all there is to it.
I hope this helps you and Happy Grilling.
I've had my grill for a few years and when i
You may have to recheck the tank for full. If you forgot to turn off the tank after the last time you used the grill, the tank could have leaked down. I always keep a spare full tank for just those types of problems. If the tank is full, then the regulator may have a problem. That grill should be able to get over 300 degrees.
Grill will only heat up to about 400
Generally, there are 2 things that can cause the problem.
1. The grill thermometer is no longer accurate. To test this, purchase an regular Oven Thermometer for about $6.00, that would normally set on the oven shelf. In this case, it's going to set on the grill grates, when you preheat the grill with the lid/hood closed. Allow it to preheat on High for 15 - 20 minutes. Look at the grill thermometer and then compare it to the oven thermometer. I'll bet, the oven thermometer will be significantly higher, if the grill thermometer is faulty.
2. If you recently turned the gas tank's valve OFF and then turned it back ON later. the grill's gas regulator is partially closed. And the burner flames are not as high as they should be. To solve this problem do the following.
A. Turn the tank valve OFF and disconnect the hose from the tank.
B. Wait 5 minutes and reconnect the hose to the tank.
C. Open the tank valve VERY, VERY SLOWLY (Slow motion, slow). Once the vale is fully open, light the burner farthest from the tank first and turn it to HIGH. Does the flame height look correct? If so, light the remaining burners the same way. Now, do all the flame heights look correct for being on HIGH. If so, you solved the problem.
If the above didn't solve the problem, you will need to replace the grill's Hose/Regulator Assembly. You can pick one up from any home center or hardware store that sells grills and accessories for about $30.00. Be sure to take your old one with you for comparison purposes.
I hope this helped you to troubleshoot and solve the problem. Please let me know and Happy Grilling!!

Igniter sparks but very little. when i light it
Either you have clogged burners or the grill's regulator is locked up. I'm betting on the regulator.
Here's what you need to do to resolve it.
1. Turn the tank valve OFF and disconnect the hose from the tank.
2. Wait 5 minutes and reconnect the hose to the tank.
3. Open the tank valve Very, Very, Slowly (slow motion, slow),
4 Once the valve is fully open, light the burner farthest from the tanks first. Does the flame look
correct? If so, light the remaining burners the same way. Now, do all the flame heights look
correct? If so, you solved the problem! Remember to always turn the tank valve ON very, very
slowly.
If it did not solve the problem, remove and clean all the burners and their venturi valves. Tnen reinstall them and turn the tank ON. as advised above. If the problem still exist, you will need to replace the grill's Hose/Regulator Assembly. You can purchase one at most home centers or hardware stores that sell gas grills and accessories. They run about $30.00. Take you old one with you for comparison purposes.
Hope this helped you troubleshoot and solve the problem. Please let me know & Happy Grilling!!
