Download the WEBcam and device drivers from the Acer WEB site. Makesure you select the model of your laptop the drivers you that require thatmatches the Windows version that is installed on your laptop. Use this link toget to the Acer support: - http://www.acersupport.com/drivers_download.aspx

1.Insert the Windows XP CD-ROM into the CD drive, and then restart the computer.
2.Click to select any options that are required to start the computer from the CD drive if you are prompted.
3.When the "Welcome to Setup" screen appears, press R to start the Recovery Console.
4.Press 1 (One) to select windows XP and then hit enter.
5.When you are prompted, type the Administrator password. If the administrator password is blank, just press ENTER.
6.At the command prompt, Type
compact /U C:\bootmgr
compact /U C:\ntldr

Access Camera Assistant Software:

a. On the taskbar double-click the Camera Assistant Software icon , or from the Windows® Start menu, point to All Programs, Camera Assistant Software, and then click Camera Assistant Software. The Camera Assistant Toolbar location briefly displays on the desktop.

b. On the Camera Assistant Toolbar, click the Start Camera button and click on the icons on the software.

If the the above steps are not working, then follow the below steps:

You can reinstall the WebCam drivers from the Acer recovery management, to do so:

Start Menu> All Programs> Acer erecovery management> Restore> Restore Application & Drivers> Contents> Select Acer Crystal Eye and install it

Select Camera (Orbicam) and download it.

Once downloaded install it on your computer.

You can restore the computer back to factory default,to do so, follow the below steps: Turn OFF the computer, now as soon as you hit the power button, keep on holding "Alt" key

& keep on tapping "F10" key, i.e Alt+f10, it will open the recovery console, select full factory restore and follow onscreen instruction.

Restarting problem could be due to Over-Heating of the CPU or Virus, worm, malware infection.

For overheating problem, you need to open the notebook and blow it with an air blower mainly near the CPU area.

For virus or worm problem, you can scan the system with a good anitvirus like Kaspersky Internet security 2010 or Mcafee Internet security with their latest updates installed.

Go to Control panel, system icon -- then go to the device manager and look at you hardware - See if you have a yellow mark next to anything there and if you do, delete it. Now go to the small computer icon at the top - right click and chose scan for changes. See if it will now find your Lan card. If it ask for software, browse for the files you downloaded see if that will fixit up.

The simple answer is: You can't! The processor is an integral part of the MB and cannot be replaced or upgraded. Instead, look to see WHY you are running slow. How much memory do you have? With XP, you need 1GB, with Vista, you need 2GB. With any less, your machine will bog down.

well you could try a few things. Don't know what the problem is. But try replacing the battieries, try resetting the camera, don't know what the problem is since you didn't state but a few things you could try.

There a few issues that can cause this, the obvious one is that the battery has failed internally, but it can also be a charging software issue. Try this. Unplug from the mains supply. Remove the battery. Leave the computer for 2 hours. Press and hold the power button for a full 2 minutes. Replace the battery, plug back in, count to 10 and power it back up. Has the motherboard battery ever been changed? They are critical to the health of the motherboard and the machine in general.

Estimado Carlos, Cuando la PC se apaga poco tiempo despues de terla prendido puede ser una senal de sobrecalentamiento del procesador. Si es una PC desktop, puedes verificar si el disipador de calor de aluminio y su ventilador estan colocados correctamente sobre el procesador y si el ventilador esta' funcionando. Si es una laptop, debes verificar si cuando la prendes el ventilador de las rejitas de ventilacion esta' suenando. Un ventilador que este' parado o con baja rotacion puede ser una de las causas del sobrecalentamiento. Pero, en los dos casos, si no es problema del ventilador del procesador, lo que hay que hacer es lo siguiente: 1 - Desarmar la computadora, y sacar el disipador de calor com mucho cuidado de sobre el procesador; 2 - Limpiar bien entre las ranuras del disipador de calor, sacandose todo el polvo y suciedad del mismo ya que el polvo ayuda a mantener el calor y sobrecalentar el procesador; 3 - Limpiar muy bien las rejillas de entrada/salida de aire, sacandose todo el polvo y suciedad, 4 - Rearmar el disipador sobre el procesador, pasando entre ellos una delgada camada de pasta termica plateada, que se puede comprar en tiendas de suminsitros y partes de computadoras (NOTA: no instale el disipador sobre el procesador sin pasar la pasta termica, porque podra' seguir sobrecalentandose); 5 - Rearmar la computadora.
