If you are using XP home or pro. Use add remove programs icon in your control panel to completely remove the driver. Then check add remove printers to make sure it is gone.
Go to www.download.com search for ccleaner, download the one with the highest # of downloads.
Load the program, I select no to check for updates one less thing causing traffic.
Run the program DO NOT use the cleaner portion until you know how to. It could wipe bookmarks and other browser info. Great program, but can cause harm if not used correctly.
Then select reg tool and it will ask you to make a back up. I have used this reg tool many times and never had it fail but back it up anyways. It will show you 100's to 1000's of problems just click fix selected items and it will run. Repeat this again and less problems with show this time. then reboot and reload the driver.---Hope this info helps.
Icon won't delete!
Go here and download Revo Uninstaller. Run the program and look for realplayer in the list, double click the realplayer icon and choose to uninstall. Choose advanced from the options. The Real Player uninstaller will run first, follow the prompts and uninstall, when it asks you to reboot, choose no, I'll reboot later. Now Revo will tell you to click next and it will then search for all other left over files in the registry, when it is finished it will list them, select all and delete, now it will search for any other file that pertians to the program and will list them, choose delete all and hit next. Reboot the machine and all evidence of Real player or any other program you choose to delete will be gone forever.

Hello
lets start with some basic troubleshooting, try connecting it to another monitor and see if the picture remains there, also see if you can see any image on the screen under a lamp.
if the picture remains on, or you see picture with the help of a lamp, then most likely either the inverter or the backlight of your display has failed, most likely the inverter.
If you don't get any picture at all, I suppose the problem might be a poor connection between display and motherboard but that is unlikely, they are quite well secured.
Are you still in warranty?
How do i use my touch pad to work horizontally or
To enable the touchpad scroll features, you you have to install the touchpad driver. The basic touchpad features work without the driver installed but the scrolling requires it.

You might not have the memory snugly placed into the slots. Also, you may have ruined the memory by touching it with your fingers if you didn't discharge your static electricity first. Try both memory sticks individually and only in slot A. If they work seperately and both work, either slot B is damaged or you have different types of RAM. possibly ecc

Think you have answered your own problem here. If the external screen is ok, then the fault lies with the laptop screen.
Solutions..
1.) Remove keyboard top cover (download a "how to" guide if not familar with doing this)
2.) Remove screen bezel
3.) Check the inverter connections (inverter looks like a thin tube)
4.) Check cabling from motherboard to monitor /inverter for signs of fraying, tears, bare wires
5.) Check connections of the cable for damage.
If the above are ok, then you may have a damaged inverter. In any event, i'd look to repairing the damage to the loose lid, as its putting a strain on the wiring

Hi There, it sounds like explorer.exe is having some problems. Your best bet is to repair windows using the disk they gave you when you bought it. Run through the wizard, and hit repair, not reinstall. It should repair the process and fix the problem.
The hinge is loose (there is a lot of Play ) and
Please stop using the laptop and have it serviced. You may be able to fix it yourseff if you're mechanically inclined and get yourself the service manual from Dell. I got mine for my Inspiron 9100 for about $10 from eBay.
The wires that feed the signal to the screen are located in the hinge area, and using the laptop in this condition is probably shorting the wires, causing the blue screen of death.
Good luck!
