Dell xps laptop lcd screen black

Hi,If you have an external monitor, try connecting the laptop to it, then toggle FN+F8 to project display from lalaptop to external monitor. If the external monitor does not have a display aswell (totally blank) , then its a problem with the video card. You can also run an LCD Bist test by turning off the system , then while the system is turned off press D + power , If you dont hear a beep but no display at all, then its an LCD problem.Hope this helpsThanks Dennis

There is a good chance the battery on your computer is dead and that is why it will not charge. Also check your charger for any physical damage as that also can lead to issues. As for why your computer loads up slowly, you could be infected with a virus. Download the two softwares below and run them. Make sure to boot into safe mode with networking (Press F8 as the computer boots, if you see the windows flag than you missed it and need to try again). They should find some threats and removed them. This should speed up your computer. Also, try going into system recovery (Press F8 again) and click "Repair my computer" click open command prompt and type "chkdsk C: /r" and let it run. Once done, restart your computer and you should be set.

Hi,
I had this same problem as well... all you have to do is download the driver from Dell's website (go to dell.com -> support -> m1210 -> vista 32-bit), install the driver (get version 10.5.1), restart and then it still won't work. Then you have to:
1) Right click on my computer, and do manage 2) Go to the device manager and look for a missing device, and browse your computer for a driver 3) Pick C:\dell\drivers\R151795\Drivers\x32 as your folder 4) Click next and you're done! it'll work now
Good luck!

I reinstalled operating system (windows xp). Now

I think it is a probable driver issue and as XP is very limited on drivers being an obsolete OS I would go to dell.com and see if any drivers will fit your use.
