Minka Aire Ceiling Fan - Page 2 Questions & Answers
Not working
Hi,
Call Minka support. I had the same problem. I thought it was because the wall switch settings and the light settings were not correct. Turned out the receiver in the ceiling fan was bad. They replaced it quickly.
They had me run some tests with a live person on the phone and it did not take long to fix after I got the part. Pain to have to take it apart but the part is a cheaply made part that is not a moving part. My two Como's have been up and used daily for over a year and they are fine. By the way, my second one was fine out of the box.
Fan and Light will not work in cold weather (under 45 degrees or so)
Cold weather may be making the lubricant too thick and impeding the motor from turning. On a cold day see how easy it is to spin the fan. It could also be the switch is worn to the point that the cold weather causes the metal to contract then it does not have enough strength to snap into the closed position. Cold weather can also cause failures in electronic circuits or even a wire connection that is not quite tight enough.
