Let me know if you find a source for replacements. In the mean time, I kept my unit working by just removing the broken top half of the hinge.
You have to remove 5 screws using a TORX T10 screwdriver. First remove the small plate covering the back of hinge on the outside. Then remove the two vertical screws at the top of the hinge up under the hinge lip. Then open the cover (be careful to hold it in place so as not to damage the three flex connections between the lid and body) and remove the other two screws at the top of the hinge. Remove the broken top half of the hinge and lower the cover back down. Until you find a replacement hinge, you can put a piece of heavy duty tape on the back where the hinge was.

If the HP WEB site does not have a printer driver for the version of Windows that is installed on your computer then either the printer is too old or not compatible for that version of Windows then HP would like you to upgrade your printer to a new model printer.
You can download the HP printer drivers from their supportWEB site. Please click on this link and select your model printer to download:- http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/en/support.html

On the front of the cartridge are some gold coloured dots, these dots line up with pins inside the printers cartridge holder. Make sure all these pins are lining up and free of any ink or dirt. Use a bright torch to make it easier.
I hope this helps Regards GM

If the phone line is attached to the unit, you may hear the fax line ring because as I recall, that circuit is powered by the phone line, but it will not answer or receive a fax while it's not plugged into the power outlet.
If that's not what you meant, please clarify and I will attempt to further help you.

The remote machine appears to be locked.

  • Ask the user of the remote machine to turn it off for 10 seconds, and then turn it back on. Retry the transmission.
  • Send to another fax machine to make sure the issue is with the one specific remote machine.
