HP Compaq ProLiant DL380 G2 Server won't boot from cdrom

Hello, I think you might find more information on starting up the DL380 G2 at the link shown below: http://h20566.www2.hpe.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=emr_na-c00972124 Also, the replacement instructions, in case it needs to be replaced, (and relevant troubleshooting info) for the 5i controller are found in the link here :http://h20566.www2.hpe.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?sp4ts.oid=316587&docLocale=en_US&docId=emr_na-c00688182 Please first make sure that you are using the proper startup boot disk for the server before entering the CD ROM option from the boot menu. Also, check the front panel of the SCSI drives for any errors or blinking LEDS that correspond to an error code. You can run a diagnostics CD/DVD that arrived with the manufacturer's pack to detect any raid issues on startup. If you are still facing difficulties with booting up the server, you can find a video for replacement of the appropriate scsi drive here if you are still facing any issues of your scsi drive. Try a different hard disk or check the relevant diagnostics to verify whether is the controller or the drive that complicates the booting of the server For more details check the scsi manual in the link below (section "FBWC LEDs" , pages 15-17). http://h20564.www2.hpe.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=emr_na-c04441382

Server won't boot and nothing to even show on the

Are there lights on the front of it? If so, try to re-seat the memory as the first step; servers overheat and are subject to "chip creep". If you don't have any lights, it could be the power supply or system board.

Server with external HDD

The Maximum internal storage for a G2 is 880.8 GB (6 x 146.8 GB Ultra320 1") so that's quite a bit more than you thought, Not sure about the USB 3.0 since the HP only has USB 1.1 and it's a PIII 1.4 GHz processor which will be your bottle neck in the end.You can definitely give it a try, but I would suggest to look at ebay where you often can find a newer model for very little money and often they are stacked with hard drives already. The PCI slots are only 64-bit, so don't expect a miracle, even with USB 3.0

How do i boot a compaq proliant dl380 with a usb

Hello,

Make sure you have turned on the USB Boot in the BIOS of the os. Once this is done, select the order you would like for the server to locate boot files. (Hard Drive, USB, CD/DVD, etc.) Once complete, insert the USB and reboot the server.

Good Luck

Wont boot anything. all lights remain on on all

Hi,
Try restarting the KVM and make sure the KVM works for other servers. If yes, then ensure the memory modules in the server are seated properly in the DIMM slots. Then power it own.
Please come back and rate my solution if it turns to be helpful for you. Thnx

The amber clearly states there are some problems with the hardware. Either with the power module, CPU or memory. Try contacting the vendor and get it repalced.

Ram Problem

RESOLUTION To clear the RILOE NVRAM and eliminate the error message, reset the RILOE using one of the following methods:
On servers running Microsoft Windows :
  • Reset RILOE through the Management Agents icon in the Control Panel:
    1. Click Start, Settings, Control Panel, Administrative Tools.
    2. Click on Services.
    3. Stop the HP Insight Server Agents.
    4. Click on Start, Settings, Control Panel.
    5. Click on the HP Management Agents icon.
    6. Click on the Remote Insight tab.
    7. Click on "Reset Remote Insight Board" (reset option will be grayed out if the Server Agents are still running).
Or
  • Reset RILOE using the Remote Insight Setup Utility in the Control Panel (pink icon).
On servers running other operating systems and as an alternative method for servers running Microsoft Windows :
  • Reset RILOE by powering off the server and unplugging the external power connection to the RILOE board and the external power connection to the server.
A permanent resolution is not planned as the Remote Insight Lights-Out Edition (RILOE) is end-of-life and out of production.

How do I fix window 10 to listen audio mp3 cd

NO PC told at all and posted to Proliant server forum that is no PC and as such the OS is not allowed there w10 nor does it have sound chips, at all, its a server running in huge dark, no humans server farm..... so let me guess you posted to wrong forum and never told PC model sure. so windows sounds work in the test in control panel yes ! the, MP3 is complex, it can be from high data rate, source and will not play unless converted . one thing to try is use this free app called Audacity https://www.audacityteam.org/ then play it or convert it or buy a USB sound dac that can decode any sound file on earth or learn to test you PC first windows sounds work then in google type simple MP3 sound test https://file-examples.com/index.php/sample-audio-files/sample-mp3-download/ works good above so your MP3 is no good or wrong bit rate. if fails yours only , buy new DAC USB dongle now it plays them all if windows sounds are dead the sound driver is missing or on a server there is no sound chips oops. buy the DAC dongle. if only 1 MP3 fails out of 100's find a better one or buy a DAC.

Blinking red light and beep sound coming from the front blade Slot 1.

That drive has failed, is it set up with a RAID configuration? Do you have the Dell monitoring software installed? Is it set up with Hot Plug drives? If so replacing the drive with a new one will start the RAID rebuild. Otherwise one way to turn off the bleep is to reboot and go into the RAID controller configuration

No servers, cant get mail or send mail cp was

If you lost everything then you've obviously reloaded all your software for the server, now you need to load your daily backup tapes onto the server so you can have mail again. you will also need to know all of your DNS's and you MX records if you're running exchange and if you don't know how to do any of it, then my suggestion is to hire a network administrator and it'll cost between $1k - $1.5k by time he's done bringing your system back online.
