Hi there.

These toners normally has a metal contact that tells the printer that the toner is there or how much toner is left. Make sure that these contacts are clean and dry and free from any dirt or inks. Use a dry cloth to clean it.

Let me know if you need further assistance.

Thank you for using Fixya!

Anything over 100 dollars for this unit is too much. You can purchase a new one for $450, there is no need to spend the ridiculous amount on the fuser.

Hi there clean the paper receiver roller and then reset the copier and try. Let me know whats happened. If not done then i am sure the sensor is damaged and you need to replace that.

The firmware update didn't install correctly or was corrupted when you downloaded it. Download the update again and go through the install process again, that should resolve the issue.

To change your toner first turn off the printer and unplug it from the power outlet. Then, lift the toner door. Carefully grap the toner cartridge from both ends and lift it up. Do not shake the toner as you may get dirty. Then take the new toner cartridge, remove any plastic covers and insert it in the printer. Close the toner door and start your pritner.

On the fuser (under the top cover), there are 2 green levers with envelopes on them. The one on the right is probably flipped up. The purpose of these levers is to decrease pressure on the paper when printing on envelopes which are 2 or 3 layers of paper. It reduces the wrinkling that occurs when printing envelopes on most laser printers. Flip that lever down and you're golden.

Hi. probably they are corrent. You better show the machine to some other proffessional too and get their opinion rather than wasting money. The best thing to do is to contact xerox and tell them there is a problem with a sensor and what should be done bout it. This way you wont have to go thru a middle man and your work gets done much faster.

hello my friend, If you want to change or remove then you can remove the toner cart from your printer by opening the printer cover once the printer cover is open then remove the toner cart. Thanks

Unfortunetly, you will have to reset the printer. Using the control panel go to the default setting and scroll to reset to factory settings. Then select yes and that should take care of it. If not, then in the rear of the printer under the cover, upper left side you will find the memory button battery. Remove the battery, unplug the unit, and turn it on for about a minute. Turn it off and put it back together and you should be ok. Good luck.

50 -100 pages.

Xerox Phaser... • Answered on Jan 27, 2009 • 153 views

You aren't fusing (melting) the toner to the paper. The probable cause for this is having the "envelope feed" levers in the "envelope", or up, position. This leaves a wider path for the paper, which does not allow the toner to be fused onto the paper properly.
The envelope feed levers are the two small green levers at the rear of the printer, one on each side, that are visible when the printer's top is lifted.
