I strongly suggest that you reinstall the printer driver. You may have program crash that's why the pc and printer can't communicate.

First make sure your ink cartridges has not any leakage. If your ink cartridge is not genuine then this problem occurs too.Also make sure print head is working fine. Your printer head need repairing.If ink cartridges are fine. Let me know if you need further assistance. Thanks for using FixYa.

First try uninstalling and reinstalling back the printer software. You should be able to locate Epson printer software under installed programs in control panel. Keep USB cable to printer disconnected during the process. If Epson software is not listed in installed programs, simply install software.

If reinstalling the software did not fix the problem, test the all in one using a different computer. You will need to install the downloaded software before connecting the printer to the second computer.

If the scanner does not work with second computer, then it is faulty. Possible faults are wiring to scanner optical sensor loosing connection and printer going out of memory while scanning because of a defective control board. In that case the unit must be disassembled and repaired. The repair will likely need new parts.
