Your error refers to the ROS motor in the laser unit. Now this means a new ROS Assy (Laser/Scanner) is needed, however if you are technically minded, remove the assy and open it. You will see a spinning mirror. Remove it and clean its shaft and oil with with a very very light oil (Model train oil). reassemble and clean the fixed and spinning mirrors, if it works great and if it does not get some money from the bank and by a new printer. The part number for the ROS is : 062K11210
good luck.
Good luck

480 is not listed in any OKI manual. However the closest to it refers to paper size mismatch. Check your driver setting especially paper size. If in UK make sure its set to A4. if in USA then yours is letter size.

Check that the toner cartridge is for your model. Think you have wrong type.

With OKI its a software issue. If you remove a drum and refit it it can screwup the software and a grey backgound can be the result. Usually powering off an on cures and or remove all consumables and let the machine error and then turn off then replace the consumables and power up again and alls well. Also you can have a bad earth contact on a drum/machine. Make sure all contacts are clean and touching each other.

There are 3 competing controls. 1) Software 2) Printer driver 3) Front panel. Software control overrides printer driver. Printer driver overrides front panel. Your software settings therefore dominate. That said, you can choose to have the front panel settings "dominate." Those front panel settings may enable you to change margin widths. Even though this may be possible, you may well find the solution is within the invoice software's print setup where you may have to check some box to enable 11 inch printing or whatever is required. But that requires knowledge of the invoice software program. I am unable to determine if you are encountering a sudden failure of a system previously working. If this is a printer failure rather than a software configuration problem, you will have to check the okidata help.

You will find the waste toner auger (Coiled wire in the plastic tube) is either snapped or blocked with hard toner. Its simple to remove as it just unscrews. If I remember correctly it sits under the transfer belt and runs down the back and right side of the base. Anyway clean and inspect it as that is what removes the waste toner.

Look for a strip of plastic running the full width of the printer. Its called an encoder strip. The sensor in the carriage looks at the encoder and counts the markings on it so it knows where to be. The strip can be dirty or marked and the carriage will have trouble reading it. Gently use a foam cleanser and wipe the strip clean. be careful as it is easily damaged. If you still have problem then a new "Space motor" is required.

Doubtful. Usually manufacturers imprint the chip on the cartridge to the specific model its made for. Remember not all toners are the same. Toner power comes in different sizes and there is no "Generic" toner.

This is a very unusual error. It refers to the internal flash memory. Hold down both menu keys (Up and down) and power up the printer. Go into the maintenance menu,Use the menu keys to the heading called "Flash Format Execute". Press setting key and it will intitialize the flash memory. Turn off and on and hopefully all will be well. If not then buy a new printer and cost outweighs repair.

There is a sensor that detects the presence of the cartridge and also a chip reader attached to the LED scanners. First trick is to check the chip. Older machines often become less able to read after market chips. Locate the slot in the side of the cartridge at the end away from the locking mechanism. Carefully prise the cover off and slide out the RF chip inside the recess. Tape this on to the top of the cartridge directly above the recess. Put it back in the printer. and try it. This puts the chip closer to the chip reader and often fixes the recognition problem. A faulty sensor is more difficult to fix and would need a service technician who is more likely to recommend replacing the machine.

You say you have checked properties etc but have you selected mp tray from printing preferences in the driver. Remember the driver overrides the printers own settings.

Open the rear cover and in the centre of the curved black guide you will see a small black lever with a silver spring on it. this is a arm to the jam sensor. check it moves freely and returns to its upright position. If ok the blow air under it into the actual sensor. Check the pickup roller is not smooth. If it is its rubber tyre can be rotated so the good part touches the paper.

There is no reference to your problem in the C5100 Service manual. I have 17 years experience on OKI printers and never heard of this error. it must be specific to a program you are using. try printing the windows test page and if that is ok consult the people who made the program as that's where the trouble must lay.

Open the machine and remove the paper tray, the drum tray, the transfer belt and the fuser. Check all for a sheet or part sheet of paper. replace all and retry. If still register a paper jam have a look underneath to see if one of the paper pick up sensors is jammed open.

I would think you have broken ribbons cables to the cyan and magenta LED print heads. As all the heads are the same I suggest you swop the black and cyan print heads around and see if cyan prints and black does not. That will prove is the print heads are ok. If they are then the ribbon cables need replacing or they are dirty at the heads. It could be just a case of unplugging them, clean them, then plug them back in again.

It would be unusual for all the colours to go out of alignment. Its probably just black but to re calibrate them all just turn of the power. Pull out all the ribbon cables to the four print heads. Make sure their ends touch no metal parts. Close the cover carefully and turn the power back on. You will hear no sounds then after intitializing you will get a fatal error 13-. Turn the power off and reconnect the ribbon cables. Turn the power back on and recalibration will take place (you wont see it happen) and all will be well.

I am David, and I do not have one, and I cannot get one for you.
Try a store where they sell them, or go online at Amazon or E-bay. God bless your efforts.

All you need to do is unlock the scanner. Just open the flatbed cover and on the left edge is the slider for the lock. Slide it towards you and that's it unlocked.
