Toshiba MK3008GAL Hard Drive Questions & Answers
I have a Toshiba MK3008GAL
You will need a docking station but you don't say whether the drive has an IDE or Sata connection. IDE being older and sata is current. Your pc will just see it as another device and will let you explore the files and copy them.

Good evening wish you.
I use
Most motherboards have two "channels", namely PRIMARY and SECONDARY.
Each channel can support two devices, namely MASTER and SLAVE.
So, the "data" cable from your disk-drive is connected to the SECONDARY channel,
and is the MASTER (or maybe "only") device on that channel.
Connecting it to the PRIMARY channel will *NOT* increase the performance of your computer; don't waste your time trying to change it.
Yes, Toshiba disk-drives do "click". However, given that you *DO* have "bad" sectors, you need to replace the disk-drive before it *COMPLETELY* dies, causing the loss of all your files!
Make a BACKUP of all your files, today!

I got a problem with my toshiba harddisk, not able to operate it
If you are using windows, and this is not your only drive, right click on my computer - select "manage" - when the computer management window opens, click on disk management. Find your toshiba drive. From this console you can initilialize, partition and format the drive. Another solution is to download and burn the opensource live CD called Parted Magic at this address: http://partedmagic.com/download.html. You can boot and run this from the CD. Start the partition manager, locate the Toshiba drive, and select Set-up a new filesystem (DOS) - you will be able to format the entire disk in nearly any filesystem available (you will most likely want NTSF of FAT32) - apply changes and viola!
Hope these answers help. If you have nay questions, dont hesitate to email me.
