How can I fix my whirlpool thin twin washer?

I was told that the timer went out on my washer so I replaced that today and its still having the same problem. It will start to run like normal and then about 3 minutes in the cycle it will stop. I can change the dial to the Rinse cycle and it will again run about 5 minutes and then stop and it won't even go on the Spin cycle. Is there anyone that can help? Please let me know. My email address is [email protected]

It almost sounds like your motor is kicking out on overload. The fact that it starts agitating after the fill can rule out the pressure switch. You have installed a new timer so we should be able to rule that out. It's possible that your pump is binding, which is attached directly to your motor and causing it to overheat. To tell for sure you would have to check the motor to see if it's getting power when it cuts out. Check your terminal block where the power cord comes in to see if all connections are secure. Other possibilities could be the clutch and brake assy. With out being there too see the problem, this is where I would start.

drum off balance

during any of the spin cycles, slow and fast, the drum shakes violently from side to side causing the drum to hit the sides and move the machine. The drum is obviously off balance, but it will not get in balance no matter how I rearrange the clothes inside. I have a whirlpool top load washer. The drum seems to be completly off track.

It's either a bad suspension spring or you have a crack in the tub support.

Not sure about the dryer but there are a couple things that could cause the no draining issue.
You could have a leak or block in your pressure hose. Basically there is a thin, clear tube inside the cabin that attaches to the tub on the lower right side. If this has a leak or is clogged then the washer has problems filling and draining.
The other possible problem is a broken lid switch. This is an easy fix. Basically, the mechanical mechanism that goes down when you close the lid does not work properly so when it comes time to drain, the washer actually thinks the lid is open.
For both of these you would need to open cabin. I posted instructions for that here:

My Thin Twin Whirlpool stacked washer/dryer has a problem. The washer basket is off kilter and I am afraid to run it because I think a mount is broken. The basket is visibly off-center. Is this something I may be able to repair myself.

whirlpool washers have a drive coupling in between the motor and the transmission to replace this remove the top and disconnect the lid switch set it aside remove the front panel then remove the 2 clips that hold the pump on then push it out of the way then remove the 2 screws that hold the motor clamps on and then remove the upper and lower motor clamps remove the motor then replace the three piece "motor coupling" one piece goes on the motor the other three pronged plastic piece goes on the transmission and the rubber isolator goes between them and now just put every thing back together

I have the whirlpool LTE5243DQ6 model stack 24in

I have the whirlpool LTE5243DQ6 model stack 24in washer dryer. I use it little because it is my vacation home. The last wash I heard the off balance clunk and when I lifted the basket back even to balance it as usual it fell over again. I gather a strut is broke loose or whatever. I don't have a manual so don't know what I need to do. The serial no is MU0101104 and there is another no. DT/T-ELE-2406021-FM30

One of the three suspension legs supporting the washer drum has broken. This model is prone to this. I had mine serviced before the warranty expired and the service guy showed me how to do it. Much the same as replacing a worn shock on a car, the front panel of the washer is held in place by two hex screws that can be accessed by 'popping' the top panel of the washer unit. Once the screws are removed, you can then access the whole unit by disconnecting the wiring loom and the internal water hoses. Sometimes if the suspension leg isn't broken, you can screw it in place and secure it with a screw. This is what the service guy did, but it came loose in a few months. There is a new kit that replaces the old suspension legs but I haven't ordered it so I can't comment.

My Thin Twin stackable washer & dryer Model # LTE5243DQ3 is having problems w/the washer spin cycle. I'm thinking I may just need a new timer because it goes through all the cycles except the spin and everything just stops. Do you think it's just the timer and wher could I order this from?

Before wasting money on a timer that wont be returnable once it is removed from the packaging please respond to me and tell me does the washer do everything including draining, and the only thing it will do not do is spin

Hello,3355806

The problem i find most often with that sympthon (espicially if it agitates) that the lid switch is defective. To access the lid switch remove the diagonal panel between the control panel and washer then remove washer top by finding the 5/16" hex headed screws in the rear of the panel then and slide top forward and off. I have included a link that when opened will show you a image of the top, item 5 is the screw that holds the top to cabinet and item 13 is the lid switch. So the machine may be used till you can get the new switch asm.,you could TEMPORARLY bypass the switch by cutting and splicing together the two dark colored wires, sometimes they are grey and sometimes they are black but in any case they are the wires that fit in the ends of the plug on the back of the top, leave the green wire attached to the top The part number for the switch assambly is 3355806 it could be found online by simply googling that part number

how to shut off dryer end of cycle beep. Can u run washer and dryer at the same time?

If the model number is correct, the dryer End of Cycle signal cannot be adjusted or turned off. The informatrion is listed on page 11 of the Owner's Manual:

http://www.managemylife.com/mmh/owner_manuals/16695/WHIRLPOOL-Laundry-Centers-L0710382?brand_name_search=LTE5243D

The only way to turn the signal off, is to remove the operator console, locate the signal (buzzer) module and disconnect the wire(s). The buzzer is listed as item 32 under the "Washer/Dryer Control Panel" parts listing:

http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/part-model/Whirlpool-Parts/Washer-dryer-combo-Parts/Model-YLTE5243DQ2/1198/0152000/W0702346/00001?blt=06&prst=&shdMod=

CAUTION: If you choose this option, make sure you UNPLUG the washer/dryer before servicing anything inside. If you disconnect any wires, make sure you cover them with heat shrink or electrical tape to keep them from coming into contact with anything else.

The washer and dryer use a common power source, but the rest of the functions operate independently of each other. You can safely run both units at the same time.

If need further assistance, please let me know. I hope this helps you.
