Look to see if you have the latest app. Make sure your WiFi in camera is set to closest source. Make sure Ipad is also on same wifi setting, i now am using Nikon SnapBridge. I have the same camera and you may have to go into camera settings menu. Do not use Bluetooth, Snap Bridge is the interface. Load onto Ipad it will find your camera.

Sounds like you have a smart or programmable shutter release - so a fault could happen at either end of the cable - or the cable itself. possible causes: bad battery in the shutter release. try replacing it with a tested new one. Cable issues, though intermittent. I presume that the cable is not removable from the portion where it can be set. If you try this on another camera body and you have the same problems (and it isn't the battery), then it is either the 'brain' in the control unit or the cable - either of which means you need a new shutter release. If it works on the other camera without failure, then it is either the plug or the brain of your camera body. If this is the case, recharge your camera battery and try again. good luck.

You did not give enough information. If the flash fires when you press the shutter button then it seems to have taken a photo. You do not tell us what happens when you press the playback button on the camera or what camera you are using with the flash.

Can i assume your using Windows? Go to my computer, locate the drive where CD is located, open and find files or set up for the Nikon. If allready set up then just locate the manual (click on that). Should open if you have Adobe in your system. GL

I cannot find a Coolpix L1 it may be real old If the camera is OLD 4GB will not work in it. many small cameras do have some memory inside. You have to get an older SD that is much less memory.
