Hi , Your going to have to Hard reset it , I believe if you hold down the power and play mode buttons at the same time it should kick in for you. Google it I had a similar issue with one of my cameras about a month ago but its all good. Just about ant device has a hard reset combination , good luck

Yes. Try plugging in the power adaptor instead of the battery.

Unplug it! Sounds like you have plugged the video(yellow) into the sound input. Make sure that all the colours match the input colours. Yellow=Video White =Left channel Red=Right channel. Also make sure that the little silver 3.5mm jack is fully inserted into the camera. :)

If the video is too long , then probably you would have to wait for quite a long time,

Therefore a better way is to shoot video at specific intervals , as it would create different files for each footage , so even if you lose one file , you have the others with you.

Now , in this case , I would advice you to please wait till the time you get the disc finalized and even if it's not finalized , and the disc has been written , then there is not much to worry as you might lose only a small part of the footage towards the end or ,you might not lose any part but the DVD might not work or be detected in PCs. It might be shown up as a blank one , which you know is not.

Remove all power and batteries, for 30Min. and that should rest it back to normal.

usually samsung camcorder have the firewire driver and firewire cable for you to transfer video file on the pc then burn it to the dvd or cd disk.try to go at samsung.com website

If your using DVD-RW make sure you format it in video mode. Do your recordings then when you want play them back on a dvd player you have to finalise the disk in the camcorder first.
If you want to continue recording you will have to un finalise the disk.

it is not accessing dvd

RE; smasung DC 161(i) pal and possibly other models The reason why there is no disc message when there is definitely a disc is installed is because the disc programming has malfunctioned, Its because of Samsungs poor design, after powering up the camcorder and inserting a disc, the disc will load and a green flashing light appears for a minute or two while loading if the Samsung camcorder is switched off while loading the camcorder will essentailly self destruct and their is no remedy, however that does not mean the Samsung is completely useless,the camcorder can record on a 4 GB SDHC(max 4GB) card using the switch from disc to memory card

connect it to the mains power and see if that works, if it does u know it will be battery

first of all check the lens. it may be dirty and cannot focus.
then check if you have an autofocus setting on your camera. auto focus generally helps.

You can use some softwares such as format factory, procoder or any video converter to change the file format to a commonly used one, like .avi, .wmv, .mp4 or so and then burn again. This should work fine anywhere.

It turned out to be a simple case of a defective disc, which, for some reason failed to work satisfactorily. I replaced it with a fresh disc (JVC 30 min DVD-RW) from he same batch and it formatted ok and worked well too. I checked that it had recorded and I was pleased to say that it had. So let's hope that that was the cause of my problem, because the camcorder is now just out of warranty.
