Trying to wire a dometic 3109226.005 control box to my existing 6 wire thermostat, the stat controls both furnace and a/c, not sure wich wires are what, colors dont match up,my t-stat has 6 wires.

Your system has a dual stage system for better efficiency. That is what the extra wires are. Either get the proper thermostat or decide to operate in single stage mode. High or low - you choose. My Dometic 936000744 is tripping circuit breaker after 10 months of use. What's wrong?

If the main RCD is tripping it indicates current is leaking to ground because of an appliance fault. If it is the micro circuit breaker that is tripping it indicates a short circuit or an overload, also due to a fault.

Nothing is happening when we use the thermostat on a Dometic ac unit. It is in a 2016 Forest River 5th wheel that we bought used, no Manuel’s came with it.

The wall thermostat is not the "Switch" that operates the A/C unit; it carries a very small current at low voltage to operate the contactor, to powers up the compressor. The contactor makes a clicking sound as it closes and the compressor should start immediately. If the contactor clicks closed and the compressor does not start, that will require a professional to do further diagnose. Working with 120 AC voltage is dangerous and should not be attempted without the necessary knowledge. However, it is safe enough to fool around with the thermostat, but stay away from the other electrical circuits An ordinary house Honeywell thermostat that is available a Home Depot will work in an RV and is a lot cheaper than the original RV unit. A house thermostat operates on 24vac but some RV's operate on 12DC. The thermostat really does not care, because it only relays continuity to the A/C contactor and does not carry the amperage load. You should avoid getting a house thermostat that has a little glass bulb with some silver liquid inside. (Mercury), because the level and movement of the RV can negatively affect the temperature setting

Dometic RV AC will not turn on unless therm set below 50. Air temp 80.

Your thermostat is no good. Depending on the age of the unit, you might be able to replace it. Pull the cover off the bottom of the unit to expose the thermostat. If it is an older unit, you'll have a copper capillary tube that is connected to the sealed system and you'll need to take it to an RV repair shop to have it replaced because it is a mechanical t-stat and you'll need to break into the sealed system to replace it. If it's a never unit and you have wires on it, It's a matter of pulling it out and finding a replacement

Dometic thermostat turns off and comes back on by itself Dometic thermostat model 3314080

Most thermostats operate this way. Instead of dropping the voltage a thermostat opens the circuit when the set temperature is reached, after which it closes again to redo the cycle again. The principle can be based on heat, time or pressure. The animation, if the GIF runs, shows the basic principle for a thermostat switch in a heater/geyser, but can be modified to operate via a pressure diaphragm as used in ovens and fridge compressor relays. Strip heats/opens then closes. ani_tstat-zmuafnxooa32kctobknhkzt2-5-0.gif
