Cuisinart Grind and Brew DGB-300BK 10-Cup Coffee Maker Questions & Answers
Kitchen aid proline coffee make not getting any
There are (I think) three possibilities:1. There is a fuse inside the unit.2. The water heating element has a thermal fuse that has failed as a result of overheating (no water in the reservoir at some point)3. The control panel has failed or the low-voltage power supply that powers the control panel has failed. My guess would be #2. This is a readily available part (electronic supply stores) but not easy to replace (unit disassembly can be quite challenging). If you're handy, give it a try. The thermal fuse will be wired directly across the terminals of the water heating element. It will have very low resistance (~1 ohm) if it is good.

Kathleen,
I just called Cuisinart Consumer Service Center at 1-800-726-0190 and the representative I got (Christina) placed an order for the part and had it shipped to me. I didn't have to pay anything! It should be here in 7-10 days. Guess I'll be doing Starbucks until then, but a small price to pay overall for my favorite coffee maker.

The brew cycle will terminate when unit senses the temperature rise when water is gone. If scale buildup is heavy, that insulates the water from the sensor and temp will rise too soon. You should runs SEVERAL cycles of descaling as the scale has to be really built up. You might want to go heavier on the vinegar and let it set a bit before cycling. Scale is hard to breakdown... It is likely a calcium compound.

Coffee maker did not heat
An electric coffee maker has an electric flow-through brewing water
heater with a heating resistor controlled by a temperature dependent
regulating switch responsive to the temperature of the heating
resistor, and a warming plate heated by the heating resistor for
maintaining the prepared coffee at a desired drinking temperature.
Apparatus for adjustably prolonging the interruption of heating current
2 to 5 times the normal cooling time of the regulating switch is
connected in circuit with the heating resistor and the regulating
switch, and a manually actuated small quantity control means connects
the heating current interruption prolonging apparatus in circuit with
the heating resistor and the regulating switch. The prolonging
apparatus may be an adjustable auxiliary electric heater in parallel
with the regulating switch and thermally coupled thereto or an
adjustable timer in series with the heating resistor and regulation
switch and triggered by the opening of the regulating switch

Cuisinart won't sell parts directly except to small appliance dealers. Hope this helps. FixYa frequently lists parts suppliers in the ads. Kind regards, NormanZ

The Automatic Shutoff Time can be programmed
anywhere from immediate shutoff
after completion of the brew cycle up to four
hours. When the coffeemaker shuts itself off,
two tones will sound. Four hours is the default
time. The 0:00 setting shuts the unit off immediately
after brewing is complete. To check the
current setting, press the “On/Off” button and
the Automatic Shutoff Time will be displayed.
To change the preset time, press and hold the
“On/Off” button until the red “power” light
begins to flash. This signals that you have
entered the “Set Automatic Shutoff” mode.
Press the “Hours” and “Minutes” buttons
to scroll forward through the digits until
desired time appears. The first setting which
appears is preset at “4:00” and the next
display will be “0:00”, since four hours is the
maximum Automatic Shutoff setting. Pressing
and holding either button will allow you to
scroll continuously, slowly at first, and then to
accelerate to the rate of about three digits per
second. As the desired time setting approaches,
release the button and then press repeatedly
to advance one digit at a time.
The Automatic Shutoff Time (ASO) may be
programmed either before or during coffee
brewing. You may also re-program the ASO
time when brewing has been completed. If you
do so, the Automatic Grind & Brew™ will automatically
account for any time that has already
elapsed after brewing.
My Cuisinart CCJ-500P1 won't turn on how to repair
To repair it, one must find out what the cause is.
Do some fault finding first; check there is power at the switch and the motor has continuity etc.
When you have found the faulty part, then you can replace the faulty part or repair the break in the cable etc.
My Cuisinart Grind and Brew does not brew. Cannot clean or descale since the water or solution does not pass thru.
Check Water Reservoir: Ensure that the water reservoir is properly seated in place and filled with water to the appropriate level. Sometimes, the machine won't brew if it detects an inadequate water level. Check Water Inlet and Outlet: Inspect the water inlet and outlet for any clogs or blockages. Sometimes, debris or mineral buildup can prevent water from flowing through the machine. Clean any visible obstructions carefully. Descale the Machine: If the issue is due to mineral buildup, descaling the coffee maker might help. Use a commercial descaling solution or a mixture of equal parts water and white vinegar. Run this solution through the machine as you would during a regular brewing cycle. Afterward, run a few cycles with plain water to rinse out any residue. Inspect Grinder and Filter Basket: Check the grinder and filter basket for any coffee grounds or other debris that might be obstructing the flow of water. Ensure that the grinder and filter basket are correctly positioned and securely locked in place. Clean the Brew Head: The brew head may also become clogged with coffee grounds or oils, affecting water flow. If your machine has a removable brew head, take it out and clean it thoroughly. If it's not removable, follow the manufacturer's instructions for cleaning the brew head. Run a Cleaning Cycle: Some coffee makers have a cleaning cycle that helps remove buildup inside the machine. Refer to your user manual for instructions on how to activate the cleaning cycle. Reset the Machine: In some cases, a simple reset can resolve minor issues. Turn off the coffee maker, unplug it from the power source, wait for a few minutes, then plug it back in and try brewing again.
Check the tubes: Make sure the tubes are sitting in the right place and filled to the correct level. Sometimes the machine will not make alcohol if it senses that there is not enough water.
Cuisinart model DCC-690. Water filter for it please?
I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble finding replacement water filters for your Cuisinart DCC-690 coffee maker.
After some research, it appears that the DCC-690 model does not have a specific water filter that is designed to fit it. However, Cuisinart does offer a universal water filter that can be used with any of their coffee makers.
The Cuisinart DCC-RWF replacement water filter is a universal filter that is compatible with all Cuisinart coffee makers that have a water filter. It is designed to remove impurities from tap water, such as chlorine, calcium, and other minerals, to improve the taste and quality of your coffee.
You should be able to find this filter on Cuisinart's website, or at a retailer that sells Cuisinart coffee makers and accessories. It is important to note that the filter should be replaced every 60 days, or after brewing 60 pots of coffee, whichever comes first.
I hope this helps!
