We have a 795.7830 bottom

The error code FF .This problem is related to freezer fan.------ So first inspect is the freezer fan running or not running.------ -------- Error FF is freezer fan fault. This usually happens when either the rear board has gone bad or the freezer fan itself is bad and needs to be replaced. To check what is causing the error you can start with checking the fan which is located behind the back wall inside the freezer. Also check the rear board as it might not be putting the fridge into defrost long enough and is causing the ice to build up in the freezer and thus stopping the freezer fan from turning and so causing FF error. Leave the fridge unplugged for 24hrs which will melt all the ice then plug it back if still the issue is not resolved and you hear the fan running then it is the rear board that needs to be replaced.-------- But if the fan is not running after you plug the power cord and turn the refrigerator ON.Then its faulty fan.-------- Mostly its freezer fan issue. But in some rare cases its faulty board also.-----------

You can get required parts from sears part direct online site or from repairclinic.com site.

--------

This will help. Thanks. Helpmech.

My Kenmore Elite bottom freezer

Probably the relay temp overload switchusing a digital ohmmeter, you pull the compressor's relay and overload off its three terminals, then check the resistance between each of these three pins.

First note the two pins that read the highest resistance. The one that remains is the 'common', to which one end of both the start and main windings connect. (The common's not always the top pin, so you'll want to do this test to be sure)

Reading from that common to each of the other two, carefully note each reading. Then measure back across the two with the highest resistance, ignoring the common. That reading should be the exact total of the two individual coil readings, because you're reading through both coils in series now.
If those two sets of readings aren't within about 1/2 ohm of each other, then one of the compressor windings is shorted, and if it runs at all, it'll run hot and usually end up short-cycling on its overload protector.
So in short eithe the temp sensor and relay or the compressor is going bad and running hot, when the heat build up it starts clicking or short cycling.

Owie. Unplug it. Wait 30 minutes. Try again. Test thermal overload. Test capacitor. Test compressor. Most likely the start capacitor is the problem.

Hi,

Thank you for contacting fixya.com.

Check the condenser under the refrigerator is clogged with lint. Make sure that the condenser fan underneath the fridge is running properly. You can get to it through the back. Check the coils on the rear of the refrigerator and make sure they are clean and dust free. Also check the back wall or floor of the freezer section for frost. Check the evaporator fan to see if it is running. Check the condenser coils under the unit for blockage from dust. Check the condenser fan under the unit to see if it is running. If you have frost in the freezer there is a problem with the defrost system and the freezer will start to warm eventually as well as the fresh food section. If that is the problem you can check the defrost thermostat, defrost heater/s, and the defrost timer or adaptive defrost control If used on your unit or the main control board if so equipped. Also check the freezer to ensure it isn't over loaded with food stuff, reason being air must flow freely threw out the entire refrigerator in order for the thermostat to work correctly.

Please get back to us if you have further query else please accept the suggestion.

Defrost the freezer by disconnecting the power to the refrigerator and letting it sit for at least 24 hours with both the doors open to allow the frost to melt completely but it will build up again in 1-2 weeks and start the warming up again.

Can't identify "water filter indicator light"

the indicator light could be on the control panel inside the refr section if your controls are there, or it is most likely on the front of the dispenser panel. it only comes on when you draw water from the dispenser and thats when you will see it be green, filter ok, yellow, filter at 80% life, or red, time to replace the water filter.
also you dont need to shut off the water when changing the filter as it is made with a shut off device in the filter housing already and is automatic.
by the way filters are expensive, go online and check prices. google "water filters" and find a good price.

We have water leaking from

Your post does not state if it is the freezer or refrigerator.
Please confirm which one.
For now I will assume that it is the freezer.
Look on the very bottom of the inside of the freezer, under the bottom drawer/basket.
Is there evidence of ice build up?
Look down the entire back panel for water running down,it may look as if a waterfall has frozen.
Look at the ice tray....are the cubes as high as the tray's top?
Look in the ice bucket, are the cubes stuck together?
Is there water frozen on the bottom of the ice maker?

Please post results
Thanks....

When i close the refrigerator the freezer door

you can try to raise the front legs a bit and put some heavy things on the rack on the door so it won't pop open.if the door opens and closes correctly this should help, also how is the gasket on the door?wash around the frame where the gasket touches the frame and wash the gasket, there's a magnet inside the gasket that helps hold the door shut.check to make sure no food or draws are sticking out to far and hitting the door when it's closing.
