How to get the caller ID to work on the additional GE DECT phone handsets. You must follow these steps in the exact order : #1 - unplug the base phone #2 - unplug the telephone line from the base phone #3 - remove the battery packs from the phones #4 - wait 10 minutes. reverse the order when assembling. Put battery packs in phones, put the telephone line back in the base phone and lastly plug all phones back in. It takes about another 10 minutes after that before all phone handsets start recognizing caller ID.

Your GE phone doesn't have an accessory handset. Unfortunately you cannot replace it with just one handset. If the phone is within warranty, kindly return it to the manufacturer and have it replaced.

THese peice of $hit phones do this to me as well the only thing i could do to resolve it.....was to remove the battery and reinstall it but this doesnt always work a few of my diffrent models from GE do this and im not particularly happy about it... I would recommend not buying products from ge again... because they make the products fail so you will buy new ones (so we cant use the same phone for 10 years)

We had the same problem.

"Our phones worked fine for two weeks but now you can not dial out
and when someone calls us they can't hear we say. The line still works
fine with our old phone1.gif."

To fix the problem, I simply unplugged the base AC plug from the outlet, waited about 15 seconds, and then plugged it back in. Both handsets said searching on the display and then handset names returned to the display as originally programmed. The phones returned to operation as normal.

Hi, Looks like either the wiring is slightly different or the jack plug not quite with in the tolerance limit. Can you swap the cables between the units (if they are removeable) to eliminate the cable as well. I would suspect the cable on the new phone! I would also make sure there is no dirt on the connectors on the plug...there are minute grooves where you can see the meatl...sometinmes these get blocked!

unplug everythingthen plug it allback in then press the mute button on the phone (program) then go to hand set setup... then go down to de authorize and remove the link..... then reauthorize it

Press the mute/program button, then press the caller ID-volume button to select handset setup (then press mute/program again to select this option). Next press tye caller ID-volume until you get to Default settings (its the last setting so pressing the up arrow is the fastest way to it). Press the mute/program button again to select the option. Use the caller ID-volume button to select 1yes. This will return the phone to the factory settings and for took care of the blinking blue light, however you will loose any custom setting or numbers you entered.

The first time I did this it didn't work, so I did again and toward the end of the steps above the phone beeped at me and stated "Reset Default Settings" (or something like that) then time I hit the mute/program button again and everything worked great. I think that last beep maybe have been a are you sure you want to restore to default question.

Remember tis will erase any custome settings you made on the phone (ring tones, ring volume, memory, etc.)
