When you enter a number/letter, the "Mute" button serves as a backspace/delete function. So what I did was go to Menu>Directory>Review, scroll to the contact I wanted to delete, and press "Mute", which asks me to confirm to delete the contact. Hope this helps.

The CS6419 isn't an answering machine. The phone will ring until you answer, an answering machine or voicemail system picks up, or the caller hangs up. To change the ring count on an answering machine or voicemail system, refer to the documentation for that system. If you require further assistance, please add a comment to this question and identify the answering machine or voicemail system.

You could go into your voice mail and press the prompts to set up your PIN. Voice mail will get you into your settings usually. Try long pressing the number 1 to access your voice mail. If you already know how to access your voicemail, try using the last four digits of your phone number as your initial PIN. That is the way most phones used to be set up. If that works, then you can create a another PIN to your liking and no longer have to use the last four digits of your phone number.

VoiceMail is not a function or feature of the VTech cordless phones. VoiceMail is an option offered by some (not all) telephone service providers, and each of those who do offer the feature employ specific procedures unique to themselves. Check with your Telephone Service Provider to see if you have or can get a VoiceMail service activated and how to go about using it. Per the CS6114 User Manual, the display indication "New Voicemail" will be removed from the cordless phone handset when you have accessed the providers' VoiceMail system and played/cleared the messages. If the alert display persists, it can be cleared from the handset by the following (tested on my own cs6114 phone): press [menu] scroll to "Settings" press [select] scroll to "Clr voicemail" press [select] display reads "Reset VM Icon?" press [select] phone will (chirp) press [off ] [off ] Good luck! --

That forward-to-another-number would usually be a function of the telephone company or service provider -- BUT the Vtech DS6522 and a similar AT&T phone do include a Bluetooth connectivity with an associated cellphone wherein the cellphone is the "service provider" and the Vtech handsets are "extensions" from the cellphone, a complicated scenario. See your model's manual ( it is available at www.manualslib.com ) and/or perhaps talk to your phone company. Good luck!
