I also looked at your manual. If the handsets are registered to your old base, you need to deregister them from looking for the old base. Then you need to register them to the new base. Hope thsis helps!

You need to record the OGM message not the memo. Memo is used for just that. You can leave a memo for your other half, child, etc.

The OGM is what callers here when getting your answering machine.

I read the manual on your phone. On some model phones there actually is a timer setting for the flash key, however there is not one for yours. The Button is marked CID/Flash on the handset. The only thing I see in the manual is a Call Waiting tone that is in addition to the telephone company tones. However it is not very clear if that actually turns the ability to press the flash for call waiting. My other suggestion is, if you have any other wired phones that call waiting works on.

I experienced this when using this model phone as an analog adjunct to an extension on a Panasonic TA624. The problem would come and go--and was driving me nuts! Turned out the culprit was BGM (Background Music) was occasionally being activated/deactivated on that extension, by pressing the [1] key inadvertedly. Since there was no outside music source--it was not playing anything to give you a clue. Once I hooked up a music source (an MP3 player) it became obvious. Good luck on finding your problem.

Here are some steps that should help. I don't think that you can Conference call You can hold a 3-way conversation (conference call) between your handset, an external caller and another internal handset user. During an external call: 1 Press . The external caller is put ?on-hold?. 2 Press or to select name, number or the handset you want to have a conference call with and press or key. The called handset will ring. 3 When the called handset answers, press to start your conference call. 4 Any handset can press at any time to leave the conference call. It looks like you can use the multiple system sets together, but the system is not designed to do what you are asking for. Please repost with any other comments or questions. Unfortunately, handsets are not universal for Uniden cordless phone systems. The accessory handset for the EZX290 is compatible with the DECT1500, 2000, 2100, 300 and 2900 DECT 6.0 phone systems. The Uniden D-1680 system can have up to 12 handsets registered to the base. (The phone system was sold in bundles with 0 to 11 accessory handsets.) However, this cordless phone system has been discontinued. I can only find used DCX160 handsets (the compatible accessory handset) on Amazon and E-bay. I hope this helps. Cindy Wells

Yes, you can join an older and a newer version of Uniden Dect 6.0 cordless phones to work off the same base. Here are the steps to sync them:

1. Disconnect the power cord from the base of both phones.
2. Take the battery out of each handset.
3. Wait for a few minutes.
4. Reconnect the power cord to the base of the newer version phone and insert its battery.
5. Wait for the phone to register on the base, which should take a few seconds.
6. Once the newer phone has registered, repeat steps 4 and 5 with the older version phone.
7. The older version phone should now register on the same base.
8. Test the phones to make sure they are working properly.

If for some reason the phones do not register on the same base, refer to the instruction manual that came with the newer version phone for further troubleshooting steps.

It may be that the message is held by the Telco. Phone the supplier and ask. You dial in with a special number and PIN.

Talk to your telephone service provider. There will be a fee. Cindy Wells (Uniden landline phones can make or receive calls; some models have a answering system. Most current models can even check if you have messages on the telephone provider's voice mail. (Sometimes, they'll give spurious voice mail information.) However, they don't have any built-in way of seeing any data (another call) from the telephone provider when the phone is in use.)
