after pairing if you answer cell phone calls on cell, the bluetooth will drop....you must delete pairing and then add it back and remember to answer only on house phone while they are paired.....

My Nokia gets that little headset icon when I turn on my bluetooth. Try going into the phone settings and make sure bluetooth is turned off.

For the technician to unlock it by playing with the IMEI, it must have been PUK Locked AKA a SIM Lock.
