IF you are talking about the fan inside the laptop, you cannot fix those, they are very poorly made. The good thing is that they are not hard to replace. Let me know if you need more info.

Wont play dvd
Take it to a tech for replacement or hit it with a big hammer. That should fix it.
Laptop screen fades in and out
try to move your lcd screen in forward and backward direction, see where you gain the display. if this didn't work, try to press the side around the lcd and see where gain the display.
by then you tell whether you have the loose connection or nearly bad lcd.
