Water supply to the despenser

HI. First, you will need to rule out any standard issues that will cause this. Check the internal, and external feed lines for any obstructions. Make sure that the internal lines are not frozen, or kinked. If the lines check out ok, move on to the water filter(if equipped).

In most units, there will be a filter, present. These devices are set to operate on a particular time frame. If their filtering limit is met, the filter will stop filtering water, thus, not allowing the fluid to flow, at all. Make sure that the filter is up to date. If you have verified that the filter is ok, move on to the water inlet valve assembly.

The water inlet valve is located behind your refrigerator. Find the water supply line coming into the valve and turn it off at the source (typically under the sink). Disconnect the supply line. Remove the screws that secure the inlet valve in place.

The water inlet valve is connected by two wires. Label the wire placement on the water inlet valve before disconnecting the wires. The wires are connected to the terminals with slip on connectors

Firmly pull the connectors off of the terminals (do not pull on the wire). You may need to use a pair of needle-nose pliers to remove the connectors. Inspect the connectors and the terminals for corrosion. If the connectors are corroded they should be replaced.

Inspect the filter screen where the supply line connects. Remove any debris or deposits that may have built up using a toothbrush, or warm running water. If you cannot clear the clog, it will be necessary to replace the valve (the filter is not removable on most inlet valves).

Test the water inlet valve for continuity using a multimeter. Set the multimeter to the ohms setting X100 (if available, otherwise use the nearest ohm setting). Place a probe on each terminal. The multimeter should display a reading of 200 to 500 ohms. Close inspection of the inlet valve and especially the coil may reveal the exact ohm resistance rating to test for. If the water inlet valve does not pass this test, it should be replaced.

How do you increase the water pressure on the

If the filter is more than 6 months old it needs to be changed. It could be stopped up.
The overall water pressure is controlled by the pressure from the incoming water supply line. If you have good pressure at other faucets you may have a restriction in the water line hookup or the water valve where your supply line connects on the rear of the refrigerator.

Whirlpool ED5VHGXML10. ice maker not working. Water not filling

If you look in the freezer there is a wire rod that goes from the ice tray to the bucket that the ice dumps into. As the level of the ice gets higher it pushes up on this wire rod to shut off the ice making operation. When the level of the ice drops the wire rod is suppose to drop and the ice making operation is suppose to resume. However a lot of times this wire rod sticks in the up position when the ice level drops. You just need to pull down on the wire rod. Try that, I think you will find that this is your problem. Please let me know if that worked for you. Thank you.

Stopped cooling but i can hear running

The overload/relay is probably bad .This is the part plugged onto the compressor , with 2 or 3 wires plugged onto it . You can easily replace this part . Be sure to have your model number when ordering .

It was working fine yesterday. When I got home I

Try unplugging refrig for a few min , then plugging back in . This will reset the adaptive timer and at least get the refrig working . The adaptive timer , is located in the control panel . Pt # 4388932 . To replace this board , remove the knobs and pro the top of the panel outwards . Remove the 4 screws holding the panel ( 2 are on the inside by the light bulb ) . You should now have access to the board .

Water supply very slow to the ice maker.

Is the water slow coming out of the water dispenser? Your fridge should have the same water pressure as any sink in your house. Most of the time low water supply is from thw water valve in your basement or under the sink or wherever your is hooked up. Most people use piercing valves and they always plug up

Freezer works good outside of is ery hot

Make sure the condenser fan underneath near the compressor is running when the compressor is. OR If the evaporator coils are icing up because of defrost failure it will stop the circulation of air and cause this and cooling problems. The coils are behind the rear cover inside the freezer.

Ice maker filled with water and then got hot

When the icemaker tells itself ,it's time to dump , a heater will come on to heat up the mold , so it will take less pressure on the little motor to dump the cubes . It will get hot enough to burn you if touched . This is normal .

Upright frig/freezer not getting cold, compressor running

1.My first suggestion, is to clean out the compressor area located at the bottom of the refrigerator. Refrigerator unplugged from power. Remove the cardboard panel from the bottom, (Watch the water line), and use a vacuum. I also bring the refrigerator towards an open door, and use compressed air to blow it out, afterward. You'd be surprised how much gunk builds up here, and how cleaning it out will help your fridge tremendously! (Good tip for air conditioners also. Power unplugged, case cover removed. Use a garden hose to flush the fins out. Let it dry, reinstall the cover) 2.Your refrigerator may be low on Freon. This requires a professional to purge the system, and reinstall Freon and lubricant.
