If it do not power up at all ..check the battery ..cause it may have connection problems ...if it opens but freezing on start ..look for the reset button ..and reset it ..This is a button hidden in a hole and need to be pressed with the stylus or with a sharp object ..and the unit has to be powered and on when you do it (even if it is in freezing position )
In the first case..no power at all ..you will probably need a new battery cause this one it is either corrupted or lost the ability to store the power ...It might power with the ac charger inserted so its worth a try ..

You can get the file using a third party software.Getdata back or file scavenger can help you get the file you want on your drive.

Deleting Files,Pictures,etc from MP3 Player
Hook up your mp3 player to your computer Go to your desktop and double left click on "My Computer" When it opens you will see listing that says "Devices with Removal Storage" your mp3 player should be listed there. Right click on your mp3 player, and a window will open, right click on "Open" and now your files/songs should be visible. Hold the left click down and drag it across all the files/songs that you do not want this will highlight the files/songs you do not want, release, right click and then click on "Delete" Now you mp3 player should be clear of the files/songs you do not want. 1. try to find firmware for it
2. firmware upgrade to reset the system

If that does not work then the unit will need repair but firmware should do the trick here.

I did some research on your issue and it appears that several other people have had issues with the iriver product not powering on and have gone to the following web site and had the mother board replaced. they all report that after getting the products back; they had no futher issues with the irivers they own

hi this happened to me when you go on ur iriver playlist right click on all music and click onto database update then hit start button and all will be found!

If you set up Windows Media Player to autosync to the Clix, then, when you delete songs from the computer (including the wallpaper jpeg), the files also get deleted off the clix. Make sure you have Manual Sync enabled in Windows Media Player (or, more accurately, disable auto-sync).

If auto-sync is already disabled, then you have a good, old-fashioned DB corruption. You can reload the firmware from iRiver's website:

To force PC to recognize, hold in one of the buttons on the side of the Clix while connecting the clix to the PC - should force recognition in 10-15 seconds.

i have vista and had the same issue even though plus 3 worked the first time i installed it (might be an issue with the safely remove hardware icon not available most of the time in vista), so now i use windows media player to sync to the device and works fine

The Clix 2 comes with software on a CD and one of the applications is "Movie Converter".  I suspect it is capable of converting movies with different formats into a format that is acceptable for the Clix.  However, I have not used it and do not know for sure.  Someone else may be able to confirm this.

If you reformatted from Windows Media Player on the PC you need to reformat again using the "Format" command on the Clix player itself under "Settings" "Advanced".  I am also assuming you already tried to press the reset button on the player.  If you have already done these two actions someone else will need to suggest a solution.

Hi there! Well it sounds like the flash memory in your device has failed. This may not be the case. There is no way to say without testing and diagnostics, however if you can not access the files saved to the memory via the device(Playing the files) and the computer can not access that memory when connected, there is a strong possibility that your memory has failed. I am not sure the age of the device but it is well documented that all flash memory will at some point fail because it can only be read and re/written X amount of times(this is normal). Typically most devices will reach "EOL"(End Of Life), or end of use before the memory fails. The likely hood of recovering the files located within the inaccessible memory is very unlikely but may be possible. Replacing the memory chip in the device is possible but not feasible. Apparently it is not compatible with newer versions of Windows, but there may be a workaround solution. Which version of Windows are you trying to install a driver for?
