I'm going to tell you how to download a new driver. Before downloading anything from the internet, be sure that your virus control is up to date
. If you are not sure, click on the icon now and open it up and find "update" and click on it and allow it to update from the internet.
>Click on this link http://www.hp.com/#Support
>Type HP Deskjet 2460 Printer
in the box
>you will go to a new page with a little pull down menu
>Choose your operating system either Windows 7 32 bit or Windows 7 64 bit (
If you do not know which Op system you have, Click on Start>Right click on Computer>Click on Properties>view the info on your computer)
>Click on the correct Driver and proceed with the download.
>When asked ,save or run ,choose SAVE, then browse to your Desktop and save the file there.
>When your download is complete, follow these steps:
>Close the hp site.
>Go to Start>Control Panel>Install / Uninstall>browse the list for your old printer driver
and click on it to uninstall.
>Turn off your printer and unplug it from the PC
To install the new driver:
>Turn off any running programs> check in your lower lefthand taskbar for icons and if possible pause them for a few minutes, including the internet and your virus control(in that order).
>Double click on the new driver file you just downloaded to your desktop
>It will install and may give you instructions. Just follow them and allow it to install. You may need to restart the computer to fully install it.
>If you have not been instructed to do so, you may now plug the printer back into the computer and turn it on.
>Turn your virus control back on before you turn your internet back on(!)
>Try a print. Do not delete the driver file off your desktop until you are sure the printer is working.
Note: Occasionally a download will be corrupted. If you are not successful the first time try a new download. It is important to install new software in as CLEAN of an environment as you can ( No programs running)
