On my YAMAHA RX-V663 The radio has set itself to play permanently on zone 2, and I cant turn it off.

“The radio has set itself to play permanently on zone 2, and I cant turn it off.” Download RXV633(YAMAHA RXV663) service manual to look for how to reset the amp. If reset does not solve the problem, matrix circuit on front panel is a main concern. Bear in mind, both Denon & Yamaha CPUs to control switching (matrix)circuit are multi-tasking, comparing Onkyo & Pioneer. Chance of CPU problem is very very low. Fixing matrix circuit is of paramount important.

Hi, I have a Yamaha RX-V663 receiver with output to a projector being Component. Problem is, i have a new PS4 with only a HDMI output. The component cables cannot be removed as they were hardwired into my house. Is there anyway in the settings that i can input the hdmi and out put component?

Hello Rob, to solve your problem you can use an HDMI to component video converter, that way you can continue using your projector without changing the installation I sent you a link to the product that is sold in my country, you search the Internet and you will find a local store where you can buy it Another solution, if your projector has an HDMI input, would be to add a UTP network cable to the installation and place an HDMI extender on each end, this device converts the HDMI signal and transports it through the UTP cable to reach the area of the projector where the other climber is that converts the signal back into HDMI and enters it into the projector I hope you can use the suggestions Greeting Franco Dosil Hola Rob, para solucionar tu problema puedes utilizar un conversor de HDMI a v?deo por componentes, de esa manera podr?s seguir utilizando tu proyector sin cambiar la instalaci?n Te envi? un link del producto que se vende en mi pais, buscas en Internet y encontraras alg?n comercio local donde puedas adquirirlo Otra soluci?n, si tu proyector tiene entrada HDMI, seria que agregar en la instalaci?n un cable de red UTP y colocar en cada extremo un extensor para HDMI, este dispositivo te convierte la se?al HDMI y la transporta por el cable UTP hasta llegar a la zona del proyector donde esta el otro escalador que vuelve a convertir la se?al en HDMI e la ingresas al proyector Espero que te sirva las sugerencias Saludo Franco Dosil https://www.googleadservices.com/pagead/aclk?sa=L&ai=DChcSEwiLpZzcvfXhAhXFHoYKHT2AAbQYABARGgJ2dQ&ohost=www.google.com&cid=CAESEeD2kRLRwuOLgcvoMxhWHbmk&sig=AOD64_1oohrC8cT1Tz_hsrJtAuiAcZWirw&ctype=5&q=&ved=0ahUKEwiDnZTcvfXhAhUirVkKHWBmBtoQ9aACCDU&adurl= https://www.googleadservices.com/pagead/aclk?sa=L&ai=DChcSEwjyp9HywfXhAhUUTA0KHURGCNgYABAfGgJxYg&ohost=www.google.com&cid=CAESEeD2JLyqY9SkQGnByoJuS8MS&sig=AOD64_0T8tmwo-SYyFqqetXQvXutuZLjWQ&ctype=5&q=&ved=0ahUKEwjE48fywfXhAhUx11kKHTAsDVwQ9aACCE0&adurl= https://www.googleadservices.com/pagead/aclk?sa=L&ai=DChcSEwjyp9HywfXhAhUUTA0KHURGCNgYABAfGgJxYg&ohost=www.google.com&cid=CAESEeD2JLyqY9SkQGnByoJuS8MS&sig=AOD64_0T8tmwo-SYyFqqetXQvXutuZLjWQ&ctype=5&q=&ved=0ahUKEwjE48fywfXhAhUx11kKHTAsDVwQ9aACCE0&adur

Yamaha rx-v 657 pro logic work only ceter and back speaker. In 7.1 mode work 5 speaker.

Posted by Boban Matic on Jan 20, 2019 Hello Boban, for what you describe, when you have the equipment working in ProLogic, you only have sound in the central speaker and in the rear and that in 7.1 they work in total, 5 speakers, ask, work the front speakers left and right? , have you controlled your connection cables ?, have you assigned them to system A and have you enabled them? If you've done all this, the front speakers should work otherwise you would have problems in the exit stage of the fronts I suggest you take it to a specialized technical service I hope you can solve the problem Greetings Franco Dosil Hola Boban, por lo que describes, cuando tienes el equipo funcionando en ProLogic, solo tienes sonido en el parlante central y en los traseros y que en 7,1 funcionan en total, 5 parlantes, pregunta, funcionan los parlantes frontales izquierdo y derecho?, controlaste sus cables de conexi?n?, los has asignado al sistema A y los has habilitado? Si has hecho todo esto, los parlantes frontales deber?an funcionar sino tendr?as problemas en la etapa de salida de los frontales Te sugiero que lo lleves a un servicio t?cnico especializado espero que puedas resolver el problema Saludos Franco Dosil

Our Yamaha remote RAV331 is not working. Light comes on when pressing buttons. Reset remote & receiver. Batteries are good & clear view to the receiver. Anyone have anymore suggestions?

“Reset remote & receiver” can't solve problem. (1)Remote ID does not match with your amp ID. You should download service manual to check the remote ID.
(2)“even Light comes ”on when pressing buttons, receiver sensor diode may get defected. Check it by your mobile phone camera.
(a)pointing the phone camera to the remote diode.
(b)don’t take any photo.
(c)when remote appear on the phone screen, press any remote button.
(d)If white flashing light is shown, remote diode is OK.Replace it and buy same part/component as stated in service manual.

I have a little used Yamaha RX-V870. I am getting output on only one of the two rear channel speakers. At one time I had a bookshelf speaker on one leg and a small floor speaker on the other leg.

“I have a little used Yamaha RX-V870. I am getting output on only one of the two rear channel speakers.” According to this symptom, chance of your av amp to get defected is very low. Maybe wrong speakers settings. Read instruction manual first.

If settings is correct, check front L/R relay and surround L/R/Back relay also .(bad contact due to oxidation)Exchange the good one(rear) with those suspected to see if sound come out from speakers. Download RXV870 service manual to locate them.

I have a wonderful old Yamaha M-40 Stereo Power Amp. It has a thump-prevention speaker protection circuit that does NOT kick off and engage the speakers...

Hi there. More than likely the power output stage has a problem (possible if the amp was on at the time of the surge). It would be best to have a proper component tester to check the stage components but component testers are expensive. But the good thing is that you have an other working amp. Since you don't have the knowledge or proper equipment I would suggest to open up both amps and compare the readings of the same points of each amp. A shorted or cut-off power semiconductor would show even on a multi-tester set at the diode scale. Check also ALL the fuses and fuse resistors related to the output stage (resistors under 1? (brown black black 1? or gold brown black 0.1?) .

Volume number reversed to -66.5 (example) And when we turn on tv the volume is at its max volume and blaring. Can't figure what setting to get into to fix. They all appear to be locked

Resetting/Initializing the receiver to factory settings Warning: This will erase all settings and return the unit to its original factory settings. Note: This procedure is done on the front panel of the receiver only. 1.Set the unit to Standby by pressing the Power button. 2.While holding down the Straight button, press the Power button. 3.SP IMP. 8 Ohm Min (Or 6 ohm) will come up on the Front Panel. 4.Press the Right Program Arrow button repeatedly until INIT-CANCEL comes up. 5.Press the Straight Button repeatedly until INIT-ALL comes up. 6.Press the Standby button to turn off the receiver. 7.The next time the receiver is powered on, the factory settings will take effect.

My yamaha RX-v1600 receiver volume not will only mute or play at one volume. I tried cleaning the mechanism but it did not help. Is there some wrong with the board.

Sometimes cleaning the potensiometer (mechanism as you described it) and lubricating them with electric contact spray does not fix the issue. Although if you havent done so, please purchase a good potensiometer/contact cleaner from an electronics retailer, take the cover off your amp and after blowing off ALL the dust that may have been accumulatet inside the amp, spray a bit of cleaner in the volume potensiometer from the terminal opening or any hole on the body. If it is of the sealed type then it has to be replaced. Please test the terminals of the potensiometer where they connect to the pcb with a component tester or if not available with a multi-tester set at ? 's (any scale that would give a reasonable indication when the potensiometer is set at the middle position). Test between one of the end terminals and the middle one. Indications should change logarithmically while you turn the knob slowly. If you get a sudden over range indication then that potensiometer is damaged and needs replacing.
