I get a intermittent loud static noise on a yamaha ysp-1000 sound bar. Lasts a while then works OK for a bit, untill it happens again. I Have unplugged all inputs. Problem still persists.

This is an indication that a component inside is failing or was not soldered onto the board properly. Without proper test gear, it would be very hard to find and without repair training and equipment you cannot fix it.

I have the RX-V995 model av receiver. when I press the power button, the display lights up for a second, then goes off with the clicking noise heard inside the amp. what should be the solution?

According to you symptom, “when I press the power button, the display lights up for a second, then goes off with the clicking noise heard inside the amp.” it is due to overcurrent protection. Enter self diag mode to confirm. DO NOT switch on the amp for three times; otherwise your amp will be locked permanently.

Very easy to fix. Download htr5740 service manual.Locate speaker relays exchange the front speaker relay with the REAR ONE. If sound comes out from front left and right speakers but no sound comes from one of the REAR speakers. The defective component is front speaker relay.Replace the relay will get it fixed. I have a Yamaha HTR -3065 and it's started coming up with advanced setup then goes to remote ID..ID2 I've tried to do a factory reset but it's not doing anything.

This remote ID prevents 2 Yamaha av-amp from being Mixed up when they receive a remote signal from RXV685 NOT RXV365. You can set ID1 for default.68854b44-9a35-474f-9679-0502581ef85b.jpg

Yamaha rx-v673 rear surround speakers fail self-diagnostic test, i.e. no power to them

For your symptom, the problem may come from relay of Rear speakers. To test it, exchange this relay with FRONT Speakers. If no sound come from front speaker but reardo, problem must be rear relay. If no sound for both front left and rightspeakers, checks the red arrow componentsand also relay controlling front speakers.Remember to download RXV673 service manual to locate them.552aa962-8689-48fb-b67c-1751c4311818.jpg

Im trouble shooting an yamaha rxv365 reciever.. im getting 120v from outlet and 118 at the end of cord... could this be the problem with power up....?.

Check for voltage at the end of the cord while moving the cord at the back of the plug and look for variances then. Also, check the voltage at the end while turning the unit on. If it drops dramatically, my guess is that the wire is either internally frayed or broken somewhere inside the insulation. Unless this cord is 500 feet long, it shouldn't have a 2 volt drop. Especially with no load in only 6 feet.

Recently purchased a house with has Yamaha SW 3 subwoofer and speakers. I hooked it up to my RCA surround sound system receiver (per the Yamaha manual) and nothing is coming out of the subwoofer.

The subwoofer itself could be blown or the capacitor board leading to it may have problems. good luck.

Yamaha receiver RXV375, I have surround sound with blue ray and tuner/radio. But with the TV (Samsung) only sound out of front speaker, can't get surround sound with TV.

Each input on a receiver can have it's own preferences (settings). My guess is that if you have a two channel analog input and have surround sound, you have on an artificial setting to mimic a multi-channel source. If your TV's output is just a two channel out and you want the same thing, do the the following. Turn your receiver to the tuner input and see what setting it is on (what effect is employed). Then, go back to the TV input on the receiver and change your sound setting to match that. Now, I should say that each input may sound better with different settings/effects, which is why they allow different settings for each input. But doing that, will give you a starting point. On the other hand, the receiver is likely choosing a digital multi-channel setting for the bluray, as it has a multi-channel signal coming thru the HDMI or optical cables. Some receivers aren't all that intuitive when it comes to changing the sound settings/ effects, that's when you pull out the manual. If it's too loud, you're too old!!!

How can i connect by Bose Lifestyle 38 Series 4 to my Yamaha TSX-7850 AV Receiver?

Your question doesn't really makes sense. You are asking how to connect one receiver to another receiver. Why would you do this? Assuming you have a reason you want the audio from the Bose to go into the Yamaha, there is both a digital (optical) audio output and an analog (rca/phono) output on the back of the Bose. Just connect one or both to an open input on the Yammy and you're done. If it's too loud, you're too old!!!
